is there any truth to the idea that the average person has several pounds of 'unprocessed' meat and other food stuck along the walls of the intestines?

Absolutely not, and this question deserves it's own thread.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who has ever seen a colonoscopy knows that there are no "accretions" or other things stuck along the walls of the intestines. One quick phosphosoda prep (read my "Dreaded Colonoscopy" thread for an explanation of this) cleans you out, without any leathery concretions or anything else abnormal coming out, unlike the stories you'll hear from the high colonics and people wanting to sell you bowel products.

There are even websites that tout photos of the "residues" that come out of people's asses when they use their product, never mentioning that it's the product itself that produces those hairy globs of fecal matter. Don't believe me? Check out this link:

To say that these people are obsessed with their bowels is an understatement. And this isn't even one of the bad sites.

I would not lie to you...I have seen dozens of well prepped colons and they're all as pink and nice as colon tissue could possibly be.

your pal,

steve

I've lately wondered how people can be so mislead about how the guts work. It's not a rigid maze with dead ends full of impacted matter. It's a soft tube that specializes in expectorating waste.

Haha I remember them telling that gum would do that when we were kids.

I thought this was going to be about what they found in Elvis' autopsy.

Didn't patent medicines have all kinds of crazy shit in them? Like cocaine, arsenic, ink, piss, etc.?

Patent medicines are a whole other flavor of "weird" IMO.

I had a colonoscopy a couple years back, and the doctor told me that I had the cleanest colon she had ever seen!

Yeah, I was just comparing the modern colon helath industry and their stories of heinous trapped dumps to the snakeoil salesman of old.

When she said it smelled like bleach, she didn't necessarily mean it was clean.
