This Korean market by me sells this and I have been curious about it, but scared at the same time, because I use to grow Aloe and it was a huge plant and would use the goo on burns etc, but whenever I tasted it it would nausiate me. But they have this on sale and I bought a bottle and it is sweetened and awesome, and it has bits of the gel floating it it and it is curiously pleasant texture.
I believe it should be good for you. I bought six more big bottles today, they are like $1.99 in HM Market. ::Info link (http://www.aloelife.com/AloeVeraPages/AloeDigestive.html)::
Anyone else drink Aloe juice?

We've been getting that stuff for years at the asian market we shop at. We will almost always each get a pint to drink on the way home, because it tastes good and the little gelly globs are kind of interesting. It doesn't explosively clean you out, or make any difference as far as I've noticed.

That article link is more of the same phony old colon-health gimmickry. The actual juice that you get at the asian market in the square bottle is just juice. It's delicious and healthy for your digestive system due to high fiber (I believe), but you can drink it like it's regular old sugar-added juice. Because it is just regular old sugar-added juice. That gimmicky stuff on the link is concentrated pseudo-health supplements with god knows what laxatives added to it to make you think you're helping yourself by shitting your guts.

There do seem to be al ot of "health supplements" based on the notion that the more you shit, the better.

Honestly, if it made me shit, I would never drink this stuff nor recommend it.
I do not need any help in that area at all, and since my stomach is so sensitive I would have noticed it if it caused anything like that, and it has not. If anything, this seems to even out any heartburn or excessive gas and make everything run better.

the picture you have up looks more like a fancy health drink rather than the true aloe products suggested on that website. the website has pills and detox meds which most likely are at a much higher concentration.

do you have the nutrition label and can see how much aloe it actually contains versus sugar and oter pleasant flavors that make it more of a treat than a health drink?

The info link I provided was not from this product website or anything. It was about Aloe in general.
This bottle label lists the ingredients in this order:

Purified water, aloe vera gel, aloe powder, liquid fructose, citric acid, gellan gum, aloe flavor, white grape flavor.

Serving size 250 ml
calories 117
calories from fat - 0

total fat - 0
saturated fat - 0
cholesterol - 0
sodium - 15 mg
total carbs - 20g
dietary fiber - 2g
sugar - 5g
protien - 0

I know this is probably more of a soft drink than a health food product, because of the fructose and the sweetness of it. But there are hunks of actual aloe gel floating in it so I have a belief that it is healthy, or at least healthier than soda.

the hunks of aloe are probably because of the consistency of it. I think even powdered aloe will take on that consistency when it gets mixed with water again so much like an oil it will float and not mix ( it could also just be the gelatin with aloe flavor and not real aloe what you see floating)

it does not seem to have as much sugar as a soda would have, so it's most likely a bit healthier than soda, I doubt you could get the same health benefit from it though

I sell this stuff at work and the brand we have has different flavors. Aloe Vera King they say its worldwide like the biggest company going. They have peach. banana, grape, original, mango, strawberry and a few others. I've tried it but I think its mostly sugar with some floaty aloe thrown in.

see, if that gelatin gum had some liquor in it... then the drink would sound way more appealing to me... almost like jello shots in a health drink... awesomeness

That why I use vodka as body spray.

I like Lily of the Desert. It doesn't taste that great, but you eventually develop a taste for it. It's really soothing on the stomach. I had a terrible stomach virus once and couldn't keep ANYthing down, except the aloe juice I sipped made me feel so much better instantly.

George's is a company that sells distilled aloe juice that markets it as tasting just like water. It's ridiculously expensive and does taste just like water, but I've never felt even the slightest difference in my digestion. I had customers constantly telling me that they were pretty sure it didn't do anything. I had a good discount and a lot of stomach problems at the time so I would literally drink a gallon of it a day and found absolutely no difference. It was refreshing though.

It's kind of a cliche at this point, but we really do expect gigantic results almost instantaneously from so-called miracle substances. The digestive health market has to be huge at this point, and as far as I know, none of it works or is even remotely necessary. If you have trouble shitting, eat more fiber. If you're at the asian market and want an exotic quenching treat, grab a square bottle of aloe juice. If you're at the asian market and want a savory treat, grab a back of these spicy squid treats. Fantastic.

I actually don't poo at all, because I'm a girl, but aloe really does do something, maybe it's not too noticeable in the juice, but the capsules absolutely have a laxative affect.

Spicy squid treats are really good? I think today I will have an Asian supermarket adventure.

The picture I posted are the plain ones. If they have that brand, but in spicy, get it. They are spicy, salty, sweet, and just mildly squiddy. They have a shredded, dry texture, sort of like turkey jerky. They are basically squid jerky. I love'em.

Here's another of my favorites:

Also, if you like sushi, you can get all the stuff you need to make it at home. It's a little expensive, but it's not that hard, and is a good "afternoon with beers" activity. They usually have sashimi-grade maguro and hamachi in the freezer. The maguro is usually a pretty good deal for sashimi-grade, but I haven't sprung for the 35 dollar slab of hamachi yet.

I saw this on sale at my farmer's market and picked up a few bottles. I brought it to my parents' house and had a little taste testing and we all loved it. I am a little bit bothered by the fact that it boasts "no added sugar" on the label but lists high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients... that's sugar. Anyway, we ALL loved it and all agreed it tasted like flat Sprite (I love flat soda!) I'm not sure if it made my poops happy, but if I'm going to take a little aloe juice regularly I guess I would prefer that it taste delicious and refreshing, as opposed to bitter and gag-ilicous. I'll probably just drink a little when I'm craving something sweet, and then I'll get some of the benefits from aloe as well.

I've had GERD an ulcer and various other stomach/esophagus problems all of my life. The stuff legitimately seems to help alleviate, at the very least, the symptoms.
