TMZ has learned LeRoi Moore, the sax player in the Dave Matthews Band, has died. He was 46.

Moore was seriously injured in an ATV accident June 30 outside Charlottesville. He had a punctured lung and broken ribs. Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications.

We're also told the band will perform tonight as scheduled at the Staples Center in L.A.

Funny I figured most Dave Matthews Members are more likely to die from ATM accidents.

I agree he was in Dave Matthews Band, he's hardly a black guy.

A better question would be do you really think that information about the Dave Matthew's Band belongs in the entertainment forum.

OK, so apparently he wasn't even on tour with the band this year because he was sick with pneumonia... And then he dies in an ATV accident.

he was that guy that gave the really bland, frat rock that kenny g essence (that was sorely missing)

so that just makes him a dead, un-employed, sax player

What a shame.
Ya know.... with a few more years of practice.... that dude could've been one of the top five dreadlocked-african-american-down-home-sax-players in the inter-racial-college-rock-bands on the american touring circuit.

I went to the funeral of a 6 year old boy last month that was also killed on one.

My boss also lost her sister on one last summer.

also, met a couple just this saturday that lost a good friend while riding one.

Those things are death traps.

That's fucked up. I'm glad my boyfriend sold his two years ago. He was beginning to realize how dangerous they are and decided he was done.

As a DMB fan I'm pretty bummed. He wasn't on the same level as Boyd or Carter but he was one of the original members of the band and contributed greatly to their sound.

He will be missed and it will be weird watching them live without him as part of the band.

It's amazing that a band can be 3/5's black yet actually have negative soul.

im with ya here.......not that im completely proud to admit this but ive been following this band for a little over 13 years now, I've seen over 35 shows.

ive grown to love all of their sounds and losing Roi is tough. its weird for me because this band has stayed together for so long without substitutes (minus people that sat in, sometimes for years on end). im going to miss him.

This is sad news. Not about Leroi's death, but that there are so many people that can't look past the legions of drunk, thick-headed, fratboy, skank, airhead, wastoid, teeny-bopper, poppy, annoying, get the spins before the show even starts and end up missing it altogether, only there cause it's cool to smoke weed in public, asshole fans and see that they really are an amazingly brilliant and talented band.

Miss Leroi's Bari.

As a fan, I'm kind of offended at all of the negativity. If you would just listen to the music, you would hear the raw talent.

Oooops. I was listening to the local smooth jazz station, and they were highlighting Kenny G cover bands with singers that just had massive injections of novocaine into their tongue. Nevermind, carry on.

No. Fratboys and drunk skanks drink a loooooooooooooooooot! That's too much liquor sales to turn down just cuz some horn player bit it.

This really sucks. I've seen them maybe 25 or 30 times in concert. Saw LeRoi rip a solo a few years back up at SPAC that was just incredible.

BTW, I'm as about as far away from being a frat boy that you could possibly be.

That's sad to hear. I really liked the flavor that he brought to their music because if gave them a different sound that I think worked really well. It was almost jazz, to go along with the rock theme.
