Xbox360 questions

Is it worth getting this over Guitar Hero? From what I can tell it seems like there's a LOT more downloadable tracks for it. Also can I just get the guitar? I don't need the drums or bass.

I'm assuming the downloadable tracks are stored on the harddrive - if so how much space do they take up? I have a Pro but the 20 gig one and right now I've got 13.5 gig free. I'd consider upping it to the 120 gig but for over $200 that seems silly.

Side question : if I did buy a new Harddrive, can I put all the stuff that's on my 20 gig on it and make it the "main" drive? If so can I still use the smaller drive as a backup?

Not only that, but if you plan on playing online, it's much better than PS3 multiplayer capabilities. Even though PS3 is free, it's a bit of a mess. 360 has a streamlined multiplayer service, but with a price.

I have the 360 already, Live is a LOT better on this machine than it was on the old box. I unfortunately have the smaller HD and I was looking to increase the size but not if I would lose access to my stuff or end up with a 20 gig paperweight.

I love civilization for 360. It's amzing that it's just as addictive as it's PC counterparts.

I love being the Spanish, beating the Aztecs then name all their cities after Pizarro and Cortes. Raping and pillaging is fun...and yes I know Pizarro had nothing to do with the Aztecs.

One gripe I have though is the online play. There were times where I've palyed it online, and while playing a decently long game (I think 3 hours might've been the max for one match), it froze up. It was beyond infuriating.

Yeah, when you get the option of naming your city, 3 choices come up, and then there's a 4. The fourth allows you to name it what you want.

Perfect write up about Too Human (which I agree totally with) on www.ctrlaldel-online.com :

So played a bunch of Too Human today. We finished up the Ice Forest, got to level 22 or so.

It's a very enjoyable game, especially on co-op. It's also a good game, but not a great game. And unfortunately it is just a couple of minor issues that keep it from being a great game, first and foremost the camera system. And yes Denis, I get Too Human. Your camera system just sucks.

It's not so bad that you can't deal with it, but it is bad enough that you notice it. And I think it could have been so easily remedied just by allowing you to hold down LB to turn the right thumbstick into camera rotation. And still tap LB to center the camera behind you like it does now. I think some minimal control over camera rotation would make things leagues better.

We also can't figure out why certain enemies just seem immune to ranged damage. We're not sure if it's intentional, or a bug of some sort. We do notice sometimes enemies just disappear for no reason, so it's not like the game is without bugs.

It is a fun time though, and I do see some replay interest there with either playing it through with your character again to reach max level, or leveling up different classes. I'm played a Defender, so I wade into the throng of enemies with my big hammer and start tossing them into the air, and Brian is a Commando, so he shoots them from a distance, and then runs in circles crying when they come after him.

There is another layer to combat and combos that I'm finally getting the hang of, twenty levels in. They could have done a better job explaining certain gameplay elements along the way.

Co-op removes the story elements and you pretty much just get straight action for what looks to be about 15 hours of gameplay. I'm not complaining, I'll do the story on my own at some point. The action is entertaining, and there's enough of it to keep you going, especially since a death penalty is nearly nonexistent. That's great, because there have been a couple of instances where Brian and I were just dying left and right.

Overall, I don't think it's the revolutionary epic that Silicon Knights wanted it to be (or seems to think it is), but it is a fun game, with a fair amount of replay value.

Now that I've heard that Silicon Knights isn't starting work on Too Human 2 right away (they're doing another project), I'm pretty confident we'll never see this planned "trilogy" finished, at least not in a timeframe that will keep anyone interested.

I prefer GH to RB. The guitar is better and I think the gameboard is better. If you buy the big HD it comes with a transfer kit so you can move your shit off the 20g to the 120g. It's a fucking rip off what they charge. I won't be purchasing one until the prices comes down and they allow for installing games on the HD to reduce load times. I haven't run into a problem with space yet. You can also buy memory cards, but those are a fucking rip too.

GH tracks are really rare. RB tracks are weekly, but the quality of the tracks are shit sometimes. One week was dedicated to strictly emo stuff. But there are some good tracks out there.

I'd just get GH3 for 360. Honestly, I'm never impressed with most of the D/L tracks anyway. I never touch RB unless I have people over.
