He was sorta of right. But a little too rigid. Fez said pina coladas are ok on a cruise or a beach vacation. I agree. If a women is walking around offering pina coladas while you are sunning, that is ok. If you order a pina colada at a bar, something is wrong.
At a bar, men, and even grown women should stick to straight drinks or drinks with one mixer. Usually for a guy tonic is enough, or just on the rocks.
I don't want to drink scotch while I am laying on a beach chair in 100 degree heat. A gin and tonic might be nice, but a pina colada is acceptable.

I drink beer, Rum and Coke, a Martini on occaision, and a glass of wine with a nice steak.
I have had a Belini, I've been shitfaced off Scotch.

I don't care what any guy drinks, of course to see a guy in the bar sipping on a breezer or a Smirnov Ice makes me lose respect, but I still understand....

I understand he is confused and wishes he had the balls to come out to his friends and family.

I drink what I want, when I want.*

If somebody thinks I'm drinking a "girly drink" then they are the one with a problem. I usually drink beer or liquor, but sometimes I'll have something different if I feel like it and it's available.

Who cares what other people think. I don't have to impress you.

*Within reason of course; no drinking & driving, not at work, not when I am watching the kid, etc.

Frankly any cocktail with a sweet mixer is kinda shooshy. As is any cocktail with a liquor in it.
I love Jack N' coke, but I'd call that shooshy too.

Men drink straight scotch, whiskey or vodka. I tried to stick to that plan for a while, but it gets old as the night goes on.

Real men drink wine too, but they have to drink a great wine.

Of course beer counts, but we all knew that. Err, cept beer that is only available during the holidays, or has some kind of fruit flavoring does not count.

NO! Sugary drinks are unmanly because men like drinks that taste bad. Diet drinks don't have sugar, but they use artificial sweeteners to make them taste good. So, while not containing sugar, diet colas are still unmanly.
A simple rule, if it tastes good the first time you try it, it is a girly drink.

you know, we Germans don't drink beer ice cold. usually it has room temperature or has been cooled for just a short time. (and I did get the joke you were aiming for there)

As for unmanly drinks, anything that comes with pieces of fruit attached, in a fruit or with an umbrella is really a girlish drink.
There are plenty of mix drinks that I would consider manly.

I am a man.

There are few people that appreciate a "real" margarita.

So many are satisfied with lots of that shitty sour mix out of the gun or one of those "just add booze and ice" mixes from the liquor store.

It's all over-sweetened crap and it's design will give you a hangover from the depths of hell!

A shot of fresh lime juice or a little bit of nelly & Joe's key lime juice (not that Rose's crap either) and less than a packet of sugar is the only way to go. If you use any more than that; the high-end ingredients won't matter... you might as well save the money and use "cactus jack" tequila and some triple sec.

And...
for your first one of the day, skip the rocks and order it "up" (extra refreshing and chances are that you'll finish it before it goes warm. Switch back to the ice later if you want to slow down)

Love,
-Joe

PS- unless sucking cock is on your schedule, there is no reason for any man to be ordering a cosmopolitan for himself. (it's in the rule book somewhere)

Lots of guys drink that stuff. The ones that don't know shit are the ones who order the drink by asking for a "cranberry and vodka" (with the juice first). These are usually the ones that are hammered by the third drink and then start ordering "grey goose and vodka".

Thank you Joe.

A "real" margarita is one where good tequila is very evident in taste.

A lot of women won't drink the well made ones, because they can taste the tequila.

IMO. Tequila gets a bad rep too because of all of the junk tequila out there.

Not true. Winter brews kick ass. Jubelale has got be the best beer ever made. Fruit flavored beers are good when they have just a hint of fruit flavor, and are brewed with real fruit, not extract.

It is not a question of manliness. It is more a question of being an unsophisticated ass. The same people that order sugary drinks cover a good steak in cheap steak sauce. Or, think wonder bread is good bread. Or, that mousse is cake.

A vodka and cranberry that I make has two shots of good vodka and 8 oz of unsweetened cranberry.

I want to enjoy the vodka and natural cranberry without the added fructose. I usually only drink beers at bars because of this. In Houston we have a nice Jazz bar that serves up nice wine so I'll forgo the beer there.
