i think it is slowing down. i have it wrapped in gauze and electrical tape. if it is still dripping in the morning i will go to er.

The best way to promote clotting is: no alcohol like beer, cold or ice compresses, a tight fitting bandage that will still allow your fingernail to turn from white to pink quickly when you push on it, and raising it above your heart.

jesus, i have been drenching wounds with peroxide since i was alittle tot. i had no idea it was bad. although the er always usesd that brown benedine shit to clean wounds so i guess you make sense. just now (before i read this post) i cleaned it with soap and water, then peroxide, then i put some neosporin on it and wrapped abutterfly on it, then a normal bandage on that to soak up any drips.

glass cuts are always a bitch to clot, but i think i am cool for now. no drips :smile:

Don't wait for the bleeding to slow or stop, don't ice it or elevate it, don't wrap it in gauze or tape.... go to the ER.

At the very least super glue it together so it can start healing and stop bleeding. But really, go to the ER.

But yeah. Unless you totally know what you're doing you're gambling your finger or an infection in your actual bloodstream, which would be very, very bad. If you broke any shards of bone and it gets in your bloodstream, it could cause a clot leading to death. Doesn't sound like you did that, but it takes only a tiny piece to do you in.

So yeah, it's recommended that you at least go to the hospital after you wake up. I'll whip you with a naughty stick if you don't.
