Ron mentioned the other day that newspapers were going to run Garfield without Garfield in it, and he and Dave couldn't figure out the point. Garfield minus Garfield (http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/) is one of my favorite websites.

Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.

It just turns into a comic strip about a psycho and is actually pretty funny a lot of the time.

the website is funny if I think Jon is a raving lunatic.

but I don't think of Jon in that way.....

I doubt they're going to print that in newspapers, but the webcomic has been around for a while. They're invariably funnier than the original, but that's like saying something tastes better than a sloppy turd.

Many of them are meh since there is often one panel of text and or empty panels, but there are also some seriously funny ones in their too.

Some of them just cast this weird light on Jon and make you look at him in a completely different way. I find it so interesting for some reason :

great president

Eh...only due to the fact that his death at the hands of Charles Guiteau led to massive Civil Service Reform under Chester A. Arthur (Chester A. Arthur!!)

And his doctors killed him with their fumbling and probing more than Guiteau's bullet...dont ever read about his treatment before dinner...blech...
