Wow.
So I guess there won't be Charlie's Angels 3 or Ocean's 14.
Sad to hear. I think it was just the other day or something they were trying to deny reports that he was dying.

Apparently he has two movies completed and set for release, one being 'Soul Men' with Samuel L Jackson. According to IMDB he was working on several other projects when he got sick. We may be seeing a Tupac-like posthumous release of new material from him over the next few years.

Yeah, I've been searching for the story too; all links have been taken down.
Also rumors of his death have been going around since Aug. 4th.
I love the fact checking that goes into these articles. Every link reporting his death, posted as little as 45 min ago has the story pulled.

greatly exaggerated (http://www.miamiherald.com/entertainment/people/story/634774.html)?
The rumors of Bernie Mac's death have been greatly exaggerated.
The Ocean's star is making a good recovery from pneumonia and should be released from a Chicago hospital within the next few weeks, his representative has confirmed.
News of the ailing actor's illness broke last week, and at one point, his publicist, Danica Smith, was forced to play down reports Mac's health had rapidly deteriorated, with some rumors claiming he had died. Sheesh.

Here's the AP release:
CHICAGO (AP) - A publicist says Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and comedian Bernie Mac has died at age 50.
Publicist Danica Smith says Mac died early Saturday at a hospital in the Chicago area of complications due to pneumonia.
The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but he had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia.
Mac had starring roles in "Ocean's Eleven,""Bad Santa,""Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Transformers."
The comedian drew critical and popular acclaim with his Fox television series "The Bernie Mac Show," which aired more than 100 episodes from 2001 to 2006.

Sucks...
Sounds like he died from sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease, which caused the pneumonia. It wouldn't be a usual thing for a 50 year old to die from a regular bacterial pneumonia.
Damn. I always found him to be quite funny & likeable.

If the Sopranos has taught us anything, it's that death happens in threes.
Carlin and Bernie were the first two. Who's the third?
Just to be racially equal, I'd go with Gabriel Iglesias. Obese comedian in his 30s, the guy has got to be one foot in the grave already.

There hasn't been confirmation yet, but Bernie Mac suffered from Sarcoidosis and there is speculation that it complicated his pneumonia. He had been in remission for several years, but it is possible that it jumped back into play during Mr. Mac's bout with pneumonia.
And obviously I am not a doctor; the idea was brought up in a couple different articles I read online. And again, it is only speculation at this point (although it makes some sense).
Whatever happened, R.I.P. Bernie Mac. Your fans will miss you.
