Hey Steve -
Is it normal or non-deadly to bleed every now and then after a healthy dump? like a bright red almost pinkisih color?
I do get the roids from time to time and just got over a mild case this week. so this morn, after my morning dump my first wipe was pretty bloody. nothing on second and third wipes. Did some extra wiping just to check.. no blood.
no pain. Just kinda freaked out at the blood.
as of late, ive been having pretty insane movements. large.
and afterwards - my ass actual hurts. like a sharp pain which i contributed to the size of my movement.
What are the signs for ass cancer?
At what point do i say "i better go to the hospital"
Im in my late 30s. Eat crappy fast food almost all week.
what can you recomend?
Thanks buddy-

Blood after dropping a deuce is never normal, but it's generally not ass-cancer either. It's most likely the 'roids, but since you have pain, it COULD be a "rectal fissure" (a tear in the wall of the rectum itself). However, it's not impossible that you have diverticulosis, too, from eating crappy food and having massive dumps. Diverticulae are simply pockets that pooch out of the intestinal wall, and they're caused by high pressures in the large bowel. They can bleed sometimes, as well.
First, I'd go buy a jar of CITRUCEL and take one scoop a day in 8 oz water. Citrucel is a fiber supplement, and it doesn't cause gas or bloating.
Second, I'd make an appointment with your family health care provider. He/she will want to look at your ass and see if anything can be seen. You may end up getting a scope up your rectum just to make sure there's nothing serious going on. Read my "Dreaded Colonoscopy" thread for more on this. Once that's established, they'll tell you to take CITRUCEL, ha.
95% or more of bright red blood from the rectum is benign...you have to get it checked out to make sure you're not in the 5%, ok?
hope this helps.
your pal,
steve

How about colace? That helped me when I was on oxycontin.

colace is a stool softener, and would help too, no doubt. I like the citrucel because it is a "bowel normalizer" and accomplishes more than just making hard stool soft, but Colace is definitely a worthy suggestion. Fiber supplementation helps to decrease diverticulosis, hemorrhoids, and fissures. It gives you nice, bulky dumps, too, that rule.
Just as an aside, Colace is docusate sodium which is rug shampoo. They take rug shampoo, put it in a pill, and sell it as a stool softener.
amazing.

Rug shampoo is expensive and colace is dirt cheap. Go figure.
