Yea yea, who cares, Tiger isnt playing. Well fuck that, I care. Anytime you have a chance to watch Bitch Tits Mickelson choke a tourney, you gotta tune in.

It's been a tough course and rough on some...guys. A lot of the big names aren't near the top but Saturday should be interesting. Kenny Perry also found a way not to play in another major.

I guess the greens are all hard from the lack of rain; but it did rain overnight here Thursday, and a few sprinkles Friday.

It's a tough course designed by Ben Hogan, and even he said it was a "Monster"; hence the nickname. I am surprised by the low scores overall though.

Im not. Watching it, the greens are INSANE. If they even get the slightest bit fast they look impossible. EVIL. Im surprised they havent thrown a US Open on there and fucked with everyone

Two years ago was the last one I think. Maybe three. I like to watch the 'jet parade' when they all leave the following monday from Oakland International. For something like two hours straight it is one corporate jet after another as they clear the main tourney traffic out of the airport. Of course the flight pattern comes right overhead here, and it is a spectacle.

edit...correction - That was Ryder Cup last time. Last Open was '96. Good info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oakland_Hills_Country_Club I thought the course was desinged by Hogan. Just another local myth I guess.

Hogan won the first Major they held there, at least thats what they said today. Id assume that has something to do with people saying its his course after all this time.

I read something like that too. The Monster name might have come from that Open.

It was a fairly violent if brief little blow we had this afternoon. Hehe.

We need the rain though.

Sunday's gonna be crazy with some guys playing 36. If it's hot tomorrow, I'd bet on some of the younger or guys in better shape to win this thing. Either way 36 is a lot play but it'll be a real bitch if it's 90 degrees. Sticky greens though.

Yeah, way to go Paddy. Was it good? It rained here and would have been a perfect day to lay around watching golf. Instead I had to go to lunch an hour and a half away with my in laws then to a minor league basball game with my wife's work.
