We've been going to OCMD every other weekend this summer and are looking for some new things to do and try there - OR on the way there.
:drunk:The ocean, The Purple Moose Saloon and of course seacrets (http://seacrets.com/) are always a given.
But what else is there to do in / or on the way to OC?

drive south an extra half hour or so to cape may and go to the "The Lobster House" best restaurant i've ever been to...might have a 2-3 hour wait but IMO its worth it

http://thelobsterhouse.com/

edit: nevermind...i was thinkin NJ...but as far as MD goes assateague (or however you spell it) is kinda cool, and there is great flouder fishing in the bay this year if you're into that

I've been here once in March sometime. It was way off season and my g/f at the time and I enjoyed dirt cheap hotel accomodations. It was a good time.

Seacrets is the big touristy place and well worth going to at least once but a nice bar/restaurant is Bull On The Beach.

The one in the 90's not on the boardwalk.

well that was a fun trip. Thanks for the advice.
But the drive home was absolute hell. Nothing like being hung over and sitting in traffic near the bay c-sucking bridge for 3 1/2 f'ing hours:annoyed: ...

a truck driver drove OFF the bay bridge. I have some cool video footage. Im already a nervous wreck driving over that bridge.. but yesterday was the worst.
I will never be on that bridge again. F maryland

heres a typical idiot holding a video cam while driving across this insane structure.

My family had a beach house for years in OC, up around 122nd St. What a cheesy but totally american place.

I'm assuming you've done the Boardwalk, the carnival, Dumsers' vinegar french fries, etc

We enjoyed Fenwick Crab House(up around 140th) and Phillips of course. Go up to Dewey. great bars. Ocean City Golf Course, on the way to Chincouteage, is 36 holes and newly redone.

If you're into fishing, rent a boat or go down to Crisfield, crabbing capital of Maryland

My wife's grandparents live in OCMD and some of her family have shore houses there. So I'm there every summer on random weekends. I'm actually going Aug 22-24. Mainly we go to Seacrets, Mackey's, the Rusty Rudder, Bull on the Beach. There's a shit ton of places to golf if you're into that. Not mini golf, but real golf.

My parents have a shore house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware which is about 45 minutes from OCMD so I'm always in that area in the spring and summer.

If you like the college bar scene then Dewey Beach is your best bet. Its right near OCMD. All those beaches are in a row off Route 1.... Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, Fenwick, Ocean City.

Ocean City is known for having below sub par restaurants. Head up to Rehobeth and you can find a lot more class in things. Nicer restaurants, not as touristy bars, nicer brunches, art galleries, etc.

Of course they still have their Hooters too.

Dewey has the best 11am bar around, which is the Starboard. Also you can see decent shows at the Bottle and Cork. Google their schedule.

(and save the gay jokes about Rehobeth please, i get it............gays go there)

Rehoboth also has The Dogfish Head Brewery/Restaurant near the boardwalk. Pretty good food and all kinds of different beers that you wouldnt normally see at bars. Just went there a few weeks ago for the first time. Cool place.

Stay away from The Frog Pond though. I went there once and it was a lesbian band on stage and a bunch of chicks just sitting at tables making out. No, it was not the kind of lesbians that you see in porn. They were all overweight and manly.

The Purple Parrot may sound gay but only the waiters are. That place is kinda cool besides the flamboyantly gay employees.

Have to go over/under that motherfucker when going to the Outer Banks. I don't have the bridge phobia, but those tunnel parts made me want to tear my own skin off. Fucking hated that part.

As far as OC, haven't been there in years, and all the good stuff that I can remember has been mentioned.

I'm an Assateague guy, i've been camping there almost every summer since '93. The local joints like Smokers Ribs and the Assateague Crab House beat anything in O.C in my opinion.
