I'd like to season up some steaks and try some new things grilling. What are some easy things I can do to make a really delicious steak?

Worsteshire sauce is great for steaks. I always rub it into my meat

Ooh, and on that topic, has anyone tried one of these (http://www.amazon.com/Vacu-Vin-2977450-Instant-Marinater/dp/B000H8BGTY/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3FGTIDWWC24JQ&colid=IDOOQ9JDX69G)? I was so profoundly excited by this gadget because I love to eat marinated meat, but hate to have to plan far enough ahead to start marinating it hours ahead of time, especially when you are supposed to time it nicely for some reason. It's tough to do on a week night.

You can always rub your meat

Throwdown had Jerk rib-eyes the other night that might be worth checking out

Oh, and this stuff is pretty good if you can find it at a store where you live.

http://www.carolinatreet.com/

We just use a basting brush to "paint" it on whatever meat (especially good on chicken) and then let it sit a little while. We usually smoke the meat after using it.

There are lots of ways to make cow more delicious (although many times you dont need to do anything other than pay attention to it) sometimes I will marinate it in a merlot and pair it with dark green veggie sides. There are a lot of good spice rubs out there. I actually had one with cinnamon and it was amazing, paired that with grilled sweet corn and grilled peppers/onion in italian. Test out some things and let us know how it goes.

Make some chimichurri sauce and put it on top of that bad boy.

I like to marinate steaks in worcestershire sauce with garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper, etc. I found some prepackaged stuff that I was skeptical about but it turned out to be really good. Durkee brand "Grill Creations Kansas city style steak seasoning" it larger chunks (instead of powder) of dehydrated garlic and onion with other spices.

If you wet your steak down with Worcestershire and put a coating of that stuff on there to let it rehydrate in the sauce, and let it sit for an hour or so you will have a great steak. Grill 5 minutes each side on a hot grill and you are good to go. At least that is how I like it.

I also think that mushrooms sauteed in butter go perfect with steak.

Mr. Ferguson brings up a valid topic to this thread. What are your favorite sides to go with your home grilled steaks?

I've recently picked up a bottle of McCormick's Roast Pepper & Roast Garlic (http://www.mccormick.com/productdetail.cfm?id=12317) seasoning, and I must say it has increased my love of steak. I make steaks in various different ways, but this seasoning is SO garlicy and sticks perfectly to steaks. It has definitely shook up my steak cooking, and I am sort of addicted to it.

If I use BBQ sauce, it is definitely Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ sauce (http://www.sweetbabyrays.com/). Damn damn tasty.

Sweet Baby Ray's is good, but it's got HFSC in it.

I constantly taste different BBQ sauces. I've been liking Trader Joe's all natural stuff.

What is HFSC?

I'm guessing it is not goodness.

High fructose corn syrup.

It's evil.

So, should I quit drinking Mt. Dew too?

Fuck that.

HFCS=goodness.

this is my go to steak recipe

flank steak...rub in adolfs meat tenderizer (thats the only brand that works in my opinion)

easy marinade: kraft zesty italian dressing, worshtishire sauce, beer: marinade for at least a day or 2 since its a tough steak

fry up portabellas, peppers, and onions and serve on top

If you're dealing with a really good piece of steak for a New York Strip, porterhouse or filet cut, I think the best seasoning is kosher or sea salt and ground pepper.

I like marinades on some of the more "difficult" meats like London Broil or flank. My wife has a soy marinade with garlic that we use for those.

One method of cooking steak is to marinate rib eye or strip steak in soy sauce, pineapple juice and some pineapple pulp, and ginger for 12-24 hours. Little bit of sea salt and cracked pepper, cook to medium rare. Just melts in your mouth, and the salty and sweet is "delightful".

Get out of the supermarket and get to a butcher shop!

Buy any strip or rib eye that is "prime, dry-aged" and you'll swear that you'll never add any other seasoning (besides salt and pepper) ever again!

I'd stab your hand to the fucking table if you asked for A-1 with one of those babies.

It's not that you should cut it out totally, but just minimize it as much as possible. It doesn't fill your body up as much as "regular" sugar does, and your body still think it's hungry when you've already had enough food.

Put some Cool Whip on a steak for the dessert -- that's part of the meal you know.

I use worcestershire and soy, plus salt, pepper and mustard powder. I usually stick with the skirt steak. Mojo's suggestion of onions and mushrooms in reduced red wine kicks ass as well.

some sea salt, a lot of fresh crushed black pepper, sauteed onions and a side of steamed broccoli. steak cooked to rare/medium rare with a crusty bread to sop up all the juices.
