I'm talking about films that you like and talk highly of to other people, but when you watch them you just think 'holy shit, this is amazing cinema' (for whatever various reasons).
The first that comes to mind for me (cause I just watched it) is Donnie Darko.
How about you guys.
*edit*
Ok to be clear, these are films you have seen, and then when you see them again on multiple viewings...

Well, right this second it's Juno..I loved her wit and sarcasm, those traits are very sexy in a pregnant 16 year old girl..

Probably my favorite movie and every time I watch it, I think I appreciate it more.

first i'd like to say your statement makes no sense...

what movie do you not realize you adore until you watch it???? um...yeah.anyway

i think you mean a movie you initially like, but upon each viewing you find you like it even more, maybe you start noticing the nuances of the film, and that makes it even better then you first realized.

I'd say road to perdition, loved it at first, and i love it even more with every viewing.

alot of times comedies fall into this category, like chris guest films, you start picking up some of the less obvious references, etc.

Every time I watch Rushmore I like it a little more. That ending kind of tie the whole thing together with a sweetness that gets lost amongst the crushed bicycles and bee stings, yet is always there. To the point where I had to make a sig pic about it.

Oh, me too. I haven't watched Rushmore recently, but I have seen it many times and every time I always find something else about it that I love. It's one of the few movies where I can't ever find a single thing I don't love about it. It is my favorite Wes Anderson by far.

I think Lost in Translation is one of those movies that I liked at first and then even more with subsequent viewings. Ghost World was another like that.

I just realized the movies I came up with are all connected. Rushmore has Bill Murray, Lost in Translation has Bill Murray. Lost in Translation has Scarlett Johansson, Ghost World has Scarlett Johansson.

Me too. Good call. But the movie I can not flip past, and that I love more and more is Defending Your Life. Except for the last 10mins where it turns super sappy.

Jackie Brown.
I watched it a few times, and just thought it was a crime flick. But it has a great score, great characters and character interaction. Beautiful movie, really.
