Gunner:
Can you get me a photo that's in focus? I can tell I'm looking at an eye, and that's about it.
I'm guessing you have some sort of corneal inclusion, maybe a reaction to a foreign body like a piece of sand stuck on your eyeball. I'd go see an eye doctor as soon as possible. An Ophthalmologist is a medical doctor specially trained in eye problems...an Optometrist is an "eye doctor" but not a medical doctor. Either one could examine your eye and both could probably make the diagnosis. Depending on the treatment, though, you may need an ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist (if, say, some sort of surgery was involved).
If you get me a better photo, I'll show it to one of my ophth friends and see what they say.
your friend,
Steve

This is about the best i got. I tried numerous different angles and lights but this has the best outcome
it is the small patch of yellow semi visible, this morning it looked almost exactly like a small white zit.

its really hard to get as a picture because its about the size of a grain of sand. the red has been there for about 3 days while the dot just appeared this morning. I went to a Regular doctor and he just said "sleep".

hmmmm....it's really hard to say, but it's easy to tell you what to do! Go see an eye doctor TOMORROW. It looks like a thing called "Scleritis", which simply means "inflammation of the white part of the eye". It can be nothing, or it can sometimes be serious. Erring on the side of caution, please get this checked out by an eye specialist and write back and tell us what they said. You could have a piece of sand stuck there, or it could be caused by a dozen other things. If I could see it live, I could give you a better guess, but it'd still be a guess. Eye specialists exist because the eye is a complicated-as-hell organ and it takes a whole specialty (and subspecialties!) to take care of the darned thing.
Good luck and let us know, ok?

DR.Steve,
I too like the other poster have a funky yellow mass on the outer part of my eyeball. Along with red veins coming out of it. I took a pic of it. It does not hurt. It is not itchy. It just feels like something is in my eye. And is bothersome. It has been there a couple days now.I don't want to waste money on a co-payment to see primary doctor if you think he cannot help. Should I be concerned about this mass? Should I see an eye doctor? Do you have any idea what it could be? Thanks a ton!

I get the two mixed up. The first thing sounds like a scleritis , like Steve says , but the second one sound like a pterygium, which looks like a small triangle of snot sitting on the surface of the eye. Usually benign, unless they grow in front of the pupil ( which they can) .

Bump on the eyelid? Are we talking inside or outside.Because there are two things if its on the inside .A chalzion or stye . They're caused by blockages and/or infections of glands around the lid.Warm soaks 5-6 x a day over the closed eye will help them go down. If its causing pain or vision problems, then they could be causing a corneal abrasion, which is also helped by warm soaks, but also some antibiotic ointment instilled into the eye at bedtime every night for a week.

This place near me, Valentino's, makes the best chalzions. Mmmmm, cheesy deliciousness.
