I have been thinking of buying a new Tacoma Double Cab ... and I am looking for feedback. I have had a Wrangler, and I love the off-road thing.
Any thoughts on the sub?

When I think truck, I don't think Toyota. Maybe it's the Corolla stigma.
I think

Toyota makes a good truck, I've heard some reviews of the Tacoma complain about the cabin seating position, windshield angle, and lame non functional hoodscoop but otherwise it seems to get great reviews. Hell the old Tacoma/Hllux was literally indestructible as they proved on Top Gear
If you've got some time check this out here's part 1, other parts are linked on the side

I bought my 2008 Tacoma Double Cab last November and love it. I don't off-road so I bought the TRD Sport package, giving a smoother ride and better handling on the road. It's a well made truck that supposedly holds it's value. I did a lot of lurking at www.toyotanation.com (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=164) before pulling the trigger.

...lame non functional hoodscoop...
Very true, but I kinda liked the look of it. You get used to not being able to see the nose of the truck!

I have a 1999 PreRunner XtraCab and a 2004 4Runner and I love them both. Before my 2004 4Runner I had a 1992 4Runner that I took up to 350,000 miles before I sold it and it was still running strong (and I got considerable resale for it, considering the age and the mileage). I highly recommend Toyota truck products. They are a ton of fun to drive and they run strong forever. So far in my young life I have had four Toyota trucks (I had a 1991 Toyota pickup as well) and I keep coming back for more, so they must be doing something right. Fun to drive, low cost of upkeep and reliable as hell. I really can't say anything bad about them.

My buddy had a 91 Corrolla that was his Dad's first then became his when he was 16. He sold it like 3 years ago with high miles and a problem tranny and he still got like 850 bucks for it. If you take care of it I'm sure just about any Toyota will be nice and reliable. I've got a Subaru but it too has been trouble free for the 5 years I've owned it.

My boyfriend just bought a Tacoma about a year ago, and I find it great to drive. It's a Toyota, so of course it's totally reliable... His last two trucks were the precursor to the Tacoma (were they just called the Toyota Truck or something?) and they're still running 200k miles later... totally rock solid. Of course, the bodies are rusted to hell and the interiors basically have been ripped apart so he could get at verious electrical things, but... they're running (and passing inspection)!
He got a 2WD version for the better gas mileage, and it's been great - we got out to CO with like less than 4 tanks of gas, which totally surprised me.

Thanks for the awesome feedback. I am the type who drives a car/trucl 'til the wheels fall off, so ... Toyota sounds like a plan.
Any other cool stories would be much appreciated.

Ditto! I have an 11 yr old corolla and it's given me zero problems and requires minimal maintenance.. soo reliable. My only complaint has to be with their Roadside Assistance service (i have AAA now). And it was really just the jerk they sent me who got mad cause I told him my b.f would pick me up rather then have me ride in his tow truck... crreeeeppy dude.
Oh, I should mention, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car.. my pocketbook was stolen and I didn't have a spare key and for some reason had put my emergency brake on.

x2 -
I became a big fan of the company when I decided it would be a good idea to drive out to CA... then packed up my 1980 Corolla and went. I got out there in 3 days without a problem then decided maybe not the best idea and drove home. All within a week - not one problem with the car and it was 14 years old at the time.
I've driven a Camry for 5 years now and own a Highlander which is a really awesome slightly smaller than most SUV.

I think that you are talking about the T-100 which is a pretty kickass truck. I just got my mother's 02 Camry, and so far I like it.

Nah, the T-100 was the predecessor to the Tundra. Before the compact was called the Tacoma, it was just the Toyota Pickup.
