If I'm wearing them while going to the beach or pool (if there'll be no place to change) for an extended period of time (longer than say from the hotel room to the beach or pool) I will add a pair of boxer-briefs underneath.

I can't stand being in just the liner for too long of a drive / walk. The fellers aren't used to that, and the elastic cuff on the liner tends to bind after a while.

I wear something to secure the boys when I am doing sports like kite boarding or surfing. Nothing like hopping on a board, and crushing your yam bags while being tossed around in the surf.

If I am at the beach I am generally surfing and wearing boardshorts, and seeing as they have no liner or elastic waistband, and when caught in a particularly violent wipe-out or undertow thing can happen to one's boardshorts, yes, I do wear boxers underneath them.

apparently this is the new style. I see it all the time with ppl my age. 1st of all I wouldnt want soggy boxers up against my balls. 2nd of all the liner is still there so you're not really accomplishing anything by wearing anything xtra.
