I subscribed to Ron and Fez on Audible yesterday because I'm supposed to be going back to work on Wednesday. I can download it as a pod cast put it right on my I-Pod the file was about 18MB. No more trying to record the show and missing it because the stream cut out or timed out or audacity made my computer crash or trying to stay up until 3 in the morning to hear the whole show and falling asleep. Not gonna miss a show anymore. Life is good!

As long as the staff actually sends the show to Audible, that is.

I've been on audible since Ron and Fez appeared there and I can honestly say I haven't had any problems. It's awesome.

I lost my Inno about 3 months ago and rather than buy a new one I decided to use Audible instead. Its great, I love being able to listen to it on my IPod during my commute. Never miss a second of a show.
BUT, the only thing is you miss out on Unmasked, SNV shows, some OnA which i miss a lot, Big City shows, etc. I raid the file library pretty frequently and pounce on anything that St. Mikey graciously puts up but its not everything.

There were a few problems right after Pitzy left, which is when I realized how addicted I am to hearing the show. There was a Friday show that wasn't uploaded until the following Monday or so, and I was seriously Jonesing.
Sucks not being able to hang out in the listening threads and playing along at work live, but I never caught a show in it's entirety ever since they moved to XM until I got my Inno and Audible subscription this spring.
Oh, and if they replay an XM unmasked, or other Non-202 show in place of a R&F show, it's not uploaded. They'll upload a previous show in it's entirety.
Other than that, no complaints, just not sure what to do with the other credit I get every month from Audible. I'm not really into Books on Tape. I just joined for R&F, and thought I had to subscribe for a year.

Oh, and once or twice "Post-Pitzy" that the show segments I downloaded were out of sequence.
Now that they come back from all of their breaks with a movie clip and a song, it took me a while to realize that I was hearing the last segment first, and I thought it was a bit when I heard "Satellite of Love" fifteen minutes into the show.
But whoever finally took over this task (obviously not Earl) has been doing great ever since. Some days the show is up and available for download before I leave the office.

i looked into the audible thing when my XM sub was almost up a few weeks back, but opted to re-up with xm. whats funny about audible is the 30 sec clip is always either the intro song or the "lets get down to it boppers" thing.
i record the show on my inno while i listen live, but my job doesn't allow uninterrupted listening so i listen to the whole show again at 3 until i leave work at 5. and then when i go to bed i record it to my hard drive every night. i have just about every show they have done since last sept with the exception of maybe ten or so shows.

That's what I did. One of the main reasons I started this thread is I didn't realize you could subsrcribe. I thought you had to buy indivdual shows. They should push the subs more it makes it more affordable for some one who hates missing a show.

I'm not sure who's in charge of uploading the show now with Pitz and Babyface gone, but I got an email a little while ago saying that today's show was available for download already... less than two hours after the show ended! AWESOME JOB!
If I could get every day's show downloaded in time for the commute home... that would be great.
Oh, and if Hicks would just start putting the new cover sheet on his TPS reports...

Everyone seems to have had a really good experience with audible, and I am to now. But it was a long road to get there so I thought I'd share it with you guys here:
I purchased my audible subscription in August without looking too closely into compatibility issues. At the time I was only running Ubuntu, and I was easily able to use the audible software in Wine (http://www.winehq.org/download/deb), but that only let me download and listen on my laptop.
For weeks I was distracted by work and wasn't able to upload the shows onto my Nokia Music Express cell phone (http://europe.nokia.com/5310). Shows piled up unlistened to (the horror).
Finally (and for a lot of other stupid reasons) I set up my dual boot with XP. Then I was able to try uploading onto my phone in Windows. More frustration. Apparently Audible doesn't support my phone. So now I had to pay $20 for SoundTaxi (http://www.sound-taxi.info/) to convert the files to MP3s to put on my phone.
By then it was January. It took me about a week to download six months of shows. However, this has had an amazing side effect. Now I'm listening to about 5 shows a day during my commute and at work. I hear the shows in my brain when I'm not even listening.
It's awesome.
