Those movies just seem to sneak up on people.
Never seen any in the theater. Usually catch them OnDemand or on HBO. I see no reason to break that trend.
They're decent.

I like where they're going with this movie - the Valdamor backstory. No, I haven't read the books.
But in the last one I took a fancy to this girl:

Best part of the Order of the Phoenix. And half-blood prince was such a shite book just offering fan service and barely did anything to advance the overall plot outside of the last couple chapters.

Me either; I have just read Wikipedia and discussed the books with loved ones who have read them.
This movie looks a lot darker than I expected, especially considering the first movie and how fanciful it was.

it looks like they might try to go the same route as dark knight with this one. seeing as the guy who plays harry potter is like 28 now, it might be time to make the movies a little darker.
i read all the books (and loved them) but for some reason the movies don't get me excited anymore.

That will be The Deathly Hallows (Part 1 and 2).

The movies, like the books, got darker and darker with each new installment.
This movie being dark has nothing do with the Dark Knight or with Daniel Radcliffe being 19 years old (which it appears he turned a week ago --I wonder if reillyluck sent him something.). It's dark because the book was dark.

I missed the last 2 movies so I'm not exactly up on the latest in the story curve since I didn't read the books. This trailer looked cool though and the movie I've seen before were quite good fantasy flicks.

hey, it's "i don't get it" guy! if i'm not mistaken, i did mention i read all the books. so i understand that they get darker with each installment. i was just pointing out a trend and........ o never mind.
but thanks for that.

Your post said that they might try to go the same route as Dark Knight or because of Radcliffe's age.
But going darker is what the book did. So the reasons for it going darker are unrelated to why the Dark Knight went darker or Radcliffe's age.
I'm not "I don't get it." I'm pointing out your analysis is faulty.

I was excited...TODAY was the original release date. Now we have to wait until July 17, 2009. So bummed.
No Harry fix this year. I want to see Ron play Quidditch and Snape kill Dumbledore.

I have been thinking about why i haven't seen anything for this movie when it was supposed to be out this month.
I can't fucking believe they moved it!!! I was SO SO SO excited to see it goddamn it.
I bet they didn't want to compete with shitty Twilight.

I believe that the reason the studio gave was that the writers strike left some holes in their schedule, so they moved up Harry Potter to shore up the 2009 summer movie season. My daughter is really bummed that they moved this. She was really looking forward to it. 8 months is a long time in general, but it's an eternity to a seven year old.

Probably.
I think people who really can't get into the movies aren't able to suspend their disbelief that much.

I'm usually up on my pop culture, but this one took me by surprise. I had never heard of Twilight, and yet is looks to be a blockbuster this weekend.
Pale, emo vampires are lame.
Next thing you know we'll have a huge television special involving a ventriloquist.

I've enjoyed the movies... the first two are very kid friendly, but they get better as they progress.

I just went to look at something on IMDB and saw a Half Blood Prince trailer on the front page. It looks fantastic! I love these books and movies. I was so mad when it didn't come out in November but it will be out in July. Something to look forward to.
