A hit with the Mensans, it's a lateral thinking puzzle. I tell you the scene, and you get to ask "Yes" or "No" questions until you figure out exactly what happened.
The scene: a guy is found dead in a puddle of water. What happened?
(starter question: "Was he drowned?" answer: "No")
Any takers?

And I almost made a smart-ass remark about the thing piercing his skull being enough by itself. Score one for self-restraint.
Total guess here...
He tripped, hit his head and died... then it rained and the puddled formed?????

TLM - it's a "lateral thinking" puzzle, so, officially, any way you arrive at the answer (including research on the internet) is valid. Maybe you should wait because Dan's on the right track...
Dan - damn close, but not exactly. "Pierced skull"...
Yeah, I think I do know the answer... but here's a question to make sure...
was he killed by someone else?

nickeye

No, he wasn't killed by someone else.
Ok, I know the answer then... I'll let the others figure it out since I cheated

<font color=purple>Two possibilities, with the latter being the most likely.
(1) He sliped on the water in the puddle, striking his head on the ground below, or (2) he was killed by a blunt object made of ice, which has now melted into a puddle of water./font>

nickeye

Really close with number 2, except for 2 things:
1) no foul play; he wasn't killed by someone else
2) it was a piercing blow, not blunt
Soooooo close, though....

Mensa is an international society that has one - and only one - qualification for membership: a score in the top 2% of the population on a standardized intelligence test - from mensa.org

There are a bunch of different approved tests, or you can have Mensa test you. There's an annoying sample test (that won't qualify you) online: http://www.mensa.org/workout2.html

I dont think that was a real Mensa question, more of a lil riddle type thing.
I took that test before and got like 20 out of the 30 correct, oh well
Any more questions on this Quiz?

Any more questions on this Quiz?Okay, here's another "lateral thinking"-type problem. This time, you don't get to ask any questions, though.
You're standing in front of a closed door. Next to the door are three light switches. Each switch controls one of three light bulbs inside the room.
You get to flip the switches however you like, but you can only open the door once. Once the door is open, you have to say which switch controls which bulb.
How do you do it?

I don't know if this is legal, but how about flipping the first switch on for five minutes and then turn it off without opening the door. Next flip the second one on and leave it as your choice. Third, go into the room and the light that is on is controlled by the second switch and the one off that is hot/warm is controlled by the first switch. Leaving the third switch controlling the other bulb that is off yet still cold, like all the women in my life (except mottthhheerr!!) j/k

If I read the question and the answers correctly, here's my answer:"If here's lying there face up, he probably slipped on the puddle of water fell to his back and then struck his head."
Any fall from your own body height onto the back of your skull can kill you. I was an EMT for 10 years.

To join mensa, you can score top 2% on a standardized exam or get a qualifying score on a mensa entrance exam. The test on their site is a practice exam for the mensa test.

For anyone who's interested:
Up until about 1990, Mensa accepted the SAT as a valid IQ test. If you took the test before then, and got a score of around 1300, you can probably get in with that...
It's mostly a social-type organization; members tend to be very odd, but, for some reason, enjoy interacting with each other. Why does this sound familiar?
