a better question would be...
did other movies suffer because everyone went to see batman, or was batman filled with people who dont usually see movies on opening weekend and the other movies got what they normally would?

Or did the other movies gain b/c batman was packed and people said lets see something instead of going home

I guess "Mamma Mia" was a pretty good choice to go up against The Dark Knight, because they really are going after different audiences.

I would have just scheduled screenings of Mamma Mia in gay bars, though. Cut out the middleman.
