View Full Version : Reunions you'd actually want to see
I actually searched for a reunion thread, but oddly enough couldn't find one.
Anyway, I was driving back from the gym tonight and popped in an old favorite album of mine, Temple of the Dog.
Then I got to thinking...it's been almost 20 years since Andrew Wood's death and the release of that album (2011 would be the 20th anniversary).
If Eddie Vedder, and Chris Cornell, and Stone Gossard all got together and wrote a 20th anniversary album in a few years, and then did a tour off it, it'd be the best thing they could possibly do.
It'd really give them a chance to write a retrospective and a real love letter type album looking back on grunge, and, whereas a 10th year, or 15th year anniversary may have just been glossed over, by the time the 20th comes up, I have a feeling there will be a full-on 90s nostalgia kick.
It's already kind of started.
There is only one reunion I want to see happen on this planet and that will be the Replacements tour. Now if Axl Rose will do me the favor of breaking up this bullshit version of "Guns n' Roses" and freeing Tommy Stinson we can get on with the show.

I know this doesn't run with the musical group vibe, but I would like to see The Young Ones do something again.

QFT- I feel sorry for Peter Murphy that the Bauhaus product is so much more special than his solo work.
I'd walk barefoot in broken peanut brittle (sharper than you think!) to see a Bauhaus show, but I wouldn't see Peter if he was appearing in my basement.
Well, maybe I would listen in the kitchen.
Double-dibs on the Smiths.

Yes, I'd LOVE to see a Replacements reunion. I'm SURE Slim Dunlap and Chris Marrs would look forward to it too.
Would I go see them if they reunited (Paul, Tommy. Chris, and Slim) MOST DEFINITELY.

Really? You think so?
(I'm not being confrontational)
I have met SO MANY Peter Murphy fans. I'd say his work TRUMPED The Bee Men (what the HELL was that?!?!?) or Love and Rockets.
JUST my opinion. I could be wrong.
I think Peter Murphy brings fans b/c of Bauhaus.(OH! THAT'S what you were SAYING! DUH!)
Again, just my opinion.

John Joseph plays with a band called FVK or Fearless Vampire Killers. They do old Cro-Mags sons, and a few Bad Brains covers as well. It's not a real 'reunion,' but keep an eye out it's worth seeing.
I would love to see a Soundgarden reunion, and the Screaming Trees, too, for that matter.

Ouch. Well, when the admonishment comes from Ms. Fuzzybutt (who HAS seen Bob Stinson's balls) I guess I have no alternative but to take it to heart.
I apologize to Epo, any replacement Replacements, and anyone else I have offended with my attempts at tomfoolery. :glurps:
