Outlook express to windows mail

Is there a way to export stuff from outlook express to windows mail. My grandfater got a new computer that has vista and windows mail and the old one had express. If its possible please walk me through it and realize that I am stupid so the more simple the more gooder.

I am having windows mail frustrations with my Blackberry. It won't sync with WM but it works with outlook.
I don't understand why they change shit that works.

EDIT: my issue is with windows calendar which is still a part of the whole thing.
