I wanted to get some opinions on what people thing about the Giant's charging a fee just for the privilidge of buying tickets.
We have 10 tickets and they are $5,000 each then 120 per game and that 50,000 has to be paid upfront with no chance to finace them. The Giants say it is to help pay off the stadium which I assume they will pay off over the next 30 - 40 years.
As a fan I did not ask for a new stadium so why do I have to help pay it off.

What makes it even worse is the PSLs for this stadium don't give you first crack to ALL events. In a lot of stadium that have PSL, the PSL holder would get first chance to buy those tickets for Concerts, soccer matches and other events as well.
In this stadium the teams will be double dipping by getting to fees for the same seat! I am a Jets season ticket holder, and I believe the max PSL we will have to pay for Upper Deck is $1000, but there is even talk of no PSL for Upper Deck. The one benefit of being a fan of a shit team.

This is a subject that is near to my heart and quite emotional so I will rant a bit
My family has held Giant season tickets since 1956. Two seats in the 2nd row 49 yard line. These will be premium seat license seats. We also have a set of upper deck seats that my brother waited on the season ticket waiting list for 27 years to receive. Additionally we have 2 Jets tickets that are original to the Titans 1960. My Uncle was a football freak and held these things for 50 and 40 years respectively then turned them over to my brothers and I. There is NO WAY that i will be able to afford the seat licences to keep these things in the family no matter how they slice it up. We will relinquish some part of these legacies to some corporate asshole who will take away the game from the true fans. I was there when the Jets won 4 games in 2 years and then raised the price of tickets $5/. My Uncle sat through 17 years without making the playoffs.
Fuck the Giants and Jets for this bull shit. The Meadowlands is a fully servicable stadium that did not need to be replaced. Greedy Motherfuckers.
Can you tell I'm pissed off to no end about this?

Johnny, what are you talking about? John Mara himself was on WFAN this morning and said the PSL *CAN* be financed. Also, the money doesn't come "upfront" necessarily. I believe you have to pay 20 percent, then 40 percent at the start of next season, and then the final 40 in March of 2010.
But, you can finance it. I know this much. As soon as Mara said you can finance it I was considering to get my name on the Jets' PSL list.

How about me, the fan who's never had season tickets because his family was very poor growing up, and when they did have enough money to afford things like football tickets, the waiting list was like 10,000 years.
PSLs are a necessary evil, but when you have gobs and gobs of tickets and no chance to see your favorite team unless you pay a premium for scalped tickets, so be it.
I'm glad the PSL will shake up the waiting list.

Because when we win this year, it won't be considered a miracle, we will be just known as good.
