Ive heard for years about the email scam coming out of Nigeria. Basically they tell you they need your help moving money out of the country or that Ive won a lottery or that I am owed sort sort of fee refund.

Well the finally found me Im getting 10-20 emails a day pleading for my help in the above catogorys it was funny at first but now its just annoying, Yahoo's spam filter is shit when it comes to these

information via e-mail instead of a Certified mail/Post-mail. This is due to the
urgency and importance of the information.Hence, this letter to you. I
humbly crave your indulgence to read this e-mail with all seriousness
of purpose devoid of any doubt in your mind because this project is
based on trust, confidence and Sincerity of purpose in order to have an
acceptable meeting of the minds..My clients Andreas Schranner, 64, a
German Citizen (Now deceased) hereinafter shall be referred to as "My

I worked at a store about 14 years ago and we got one in the mail (this is before everyone had e-mail) so this scam has been going on for YEARS.

Ever since I put my resume with my e-mail addy on monster and careerbuilder, I've been getting e-mails for jobs that, basically, would have me mailing stolen merchandise to various places around the world. They also ask for my bank account number so they can deposit my paycheck.

the person sending the email claimed to be the lawyer of a guy who had the same last name as mine and that he had all these millions and no will, if i sent all my contact info they could pass me off as a living relative

Serious question for legal minded people

A lot of these stupid thing that I keep receiving come from email addresses that have Microsoft or Yahoo or Banks, big corporations as the title of the sender

Shouldn't there be some responsibility on Yahoo or Microsoft's part to fight this or put pressure on email services to eliminate these false email addresses

I cant just start an email address with booster@cokeacola.com can I?

I know these guys are over seas but the ISP/search engines web companies should be able to stop them before I ever get them shouldn't they?

Lets say I'm stupid enough to believe one of these things because it says Yahoo or Microsoft and get conned could a lawyer sue the mentioned companies for not policing the use of their names?

Usually, they say that a billionaire with the same last name as me has been killed in car crash and this nice lawyer wants to scam teh gov't by saying I am the sole survivor and should get the billions. All I have to do is send them a few grand to get things rolling. I usuallt reply that they should send me a few grand as a good faith offer first. I never got it.
