I didn't see an official thread for the greatest show in MTV history (not saying much) so here it is.

They just finished off a tremendous comeback season in Hollywood. I really am a Real World buff season 1-10 maybe even 15 but it fell way off after that. This season was a throwback though. Fights, going to rehab, roommate sex-just a classic. I'm back into it and if it was DVD, I definitely buy the first 10 seasons at least.

Now I read that next season will be in Brooklyn.

"The Real World: Brooklyn is the upcoming twenty-first season of MTV's popular reality television series The Real World, which focuses on seven diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It will be the third season of the show to be set in New York City, though the first to be set in the borough of Brooklyn, as the previous seasons, 1992's The Real World: New York and 2001's The Real World: Back to New York, were filmed in Manhattan. This season will be aired as 12 one-hour episodes. MTV announced the location in May 2008."

I expect big things from this season as well. Just look at he apartment their supposed to be living in.

I know the show is the downfall of society, but as a teenager and early 20-something, it really is just such a joy to sit back, zone out and watch. Who else is a fan?

Real World London was my favorite but it's hardly even acknowledged... probably because it was a little on the tame side (compared to the Las Vegas season definitely!) but Neil was my dream guy! :wub:

The series went downhill when they started making them work at a job - I think it was the Miami season. I think most of the casts since Miami are just so caught up in trying to be outrageous and crazy, it's kind of stupid and definitely predictable.

I enjoy the drama and enjoy hating all of them for being so stupid, but they really are all so self-absorbed and a bunch of slutz. I'm with you hammersavage... I watched season 1-10 pretty religiously, but dropped off considerably around the second NY cast. A guy I knew of from some of the local NJ bands wormed his way into that house dating one of the girls and I was so disgusted by that, and her ignorance as to why he was interested in her, that I couldn't watch the show after that. I've come in and out ever since.

i like the show. i really liked the last 2 seasons. though Joey doing his Macho Man impression over and over again really bugged me this year. so did his constant whining about no one caring enough about his problems.

the London edition sucked.

I think London was weak as well but it did feature maybe the biggest crossover star in RW history, Jacinda Barrett who is like a real actress now.

The jobs on the show are hit or miss. It provided some great moments like in Boston when Montana hooked up with the father of a kid at the center they worked at. But like this season at the Improv club, it was weak. Improv by professionals stinks so by amateurs must be torture.

This was the first complete Real World season I watched since the whole Vegas, Paris, San Diego clip. It was an awesome season. Sarah was soooooo hot. I can't wait for the new challenge.

The last one I watched was in Hawaii. After that I had no interest in it.

I did like Amaya though. Granted she was extremely annoying with all her whining and crying, but she had a rack and a half on her.

But each was solid to great from Arissa to Irulan. Byrnn was way hot and Trishelle, although trash, was smoking.

Wow, what a return to form. Has the feel of a classic season right away. Glad they don't have a stupid job and the house is fantastic. I think all of the people seem decent and compelling. The Mormon kid is such a closet homosexual it's painful to watch.

My only complaint is Katelynn. He/her story is too much of the show. It should almost be its own separate thing. Between the Iraq vet, former lesbian, the dancer, incredibly hot black chick, gay guy, confused Mormon and the meathead, he/she gets too much of the spotlight. Maybe it was a week 1 thing.

I actually saw one of the alumni on a HGTV show and my mind went into overdrive trying to figure out who the hell she was til I realized it was Kit from the first Road Rules season.

i just brought this up to my chick today about the Real World. I told her I thought this current cast is extremely boring and that I've now fallen victim to craving trashy reality television. I want to see hot young chicks, people getting drunk, doing blow, fighting with each other, going to rehab and fucking each other on the Real World. its what ive become accustomed to as well.

Exactly, then by the end of this season I'll be accustomed to this and next season, when its back to the sex and booze, I'll be outraged like it the Vegas season all over again. Maybe they are bringing out shock level down.

I think they are in a great location and actually seem like decent people so for that alone (and the fact that I've seen every second of this stupid show) I'll stick around til the end. Just hope it spiced up a little bit.

Well, for those of you who demand trash and that Brooklyn was boring, MTV has gone for what seems to be the trashiest season yet. They are going to Cancun.

The cast will be staying at the Cancun resort, ME Cancun, and will be made up of eight individuals in line with the prior season, but a departure from the series' standard seven. Primary production wrapped up in April and was not affected by the swine flu outbreak in Mexico. Executive Producer Jim Johnston said, "We had stopped production before this thing reared its ugly head."


The bios on Wikipedia list two of the females as Hooters waitresses. That bodes well I think.

Another nugget- "Ayiiia (yes, three Is), who’s 21 and was selected by viewers at realworldcasting.com. She has “a viciousness that alienates the other roommates” and “is a reformed party girl with a history of drug abuse and cutting.”

I really enjoyed watching Judd from San Francisco struggle with his art, and his goal to become a comic illustrator. I have followed him in the comic would and he is doing really well. He also married my favorite Real Worlder Pam. I love that she was not only put together but had this amazing real job.

I miss the good old days of this show.

Real World DC started on Wednesday.

I was a fan of the first show. Not too many douche bags like Cancun. More of a real people cast like Brooklyn was.


And the chicks may be the hottest of any cast ever. The girl Ashley is absolutely gorgeous. And Emily is hot too. The other two are cute.

I liked the political theme of the house. I think I'll watch this season.
