Evening Buddays.

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g112/bronxbonita/YankeeGirl.jpg

For some reason, I am more interested in tonight's game then I have been for a few years.
Maybe it is Yankee Stadium in the spotlight.
Maybe I am actually pretty excited about this years rosters.
Maybe I am just waiting for the stadium to jump off of it's foundation when Mariano comes running in from the bullpen for the ninth.

Well, enjoy the game.

If a player is selected to represent one league, but gets traded to the other, he cannot go back and represent the league he was selected to play for. However, in this case, that person can still play in the All-Star game for the league he plays for now, if and only if, another player is injured and is unable to compete.

Case in point, in 2004, Carlos Beltran was selected as the starter for the AL, but had already been traded to Houston weeks before the game. Since Beltran was at the point playing for an NL team, he would have to represent as a member of the NL team, but would not play unless someone already on the team was injured and could not compete. Ken Griffey, Jr. was already injured when he was selected to start, and therefore was replaced by Lance Berkman to start for him. Beltran was then selected to replace Griffey on the roster and did get to play.

Not particularly good in big games. either.

Hoff gets more respect, though, because he's the all-time saves leader.

And a guy like Wagner who can't keep his mouth shut anywhere he goes makes himself an easier target.
