Not sure about Halo:Blue, but they showcased the Halo Wars RTS, and it was pretty meh.

I'm really excited about Fable 2 and Fallout 3 though, they looked pretty awesome.

Nintendo DS announced a GTA title on its platform.

There's going to be a new Wii Sports - Resorts with jetskiing and stuff.

There was the apparently huge Rock Band 2 announcements, but I'm not into Rhythm games, so I didn't really care much.

Ghostbusters the game looks like crap.

BioWare showed off some Dragon Age, which looked OK, but still too early to tell if it will measure up to their other games.

You will have to have the original disc in order to play it. This means little to no load times, less noise because the disc tray will NOT be spinning, and will help with the whole "Blu-ray is better cuz of size" debate. For a little while, at least.

I am sure there will be a Blu-ray drive for the 360 eventually.

Sony announced God of War 3 for the PS3 and that their video rental service is going live tonight. And they showed some huge ass SOCOM-like online multiplayer game that will support up to 256 players. Pretty lackluster compared to everyone else.

An addendum: The video rental store will allow you to view rentals on the PSP as well, which is pretty cool.

My 360 drive failed, I'm on my 2nd 360, and I have a 20g HD, so I don't think I'm going to be installing games unless I buy whatever overpriced crap MS puts out for bigger hard drives.

It bothers me that the Wii still has no decent third party games.

All the control technology is great, but it doesn't mean a damn thing if the game developers don't want to use it. The Nintendo-made games for it are great, but how about a nice RPG or something.

I have high hopes for the Star Wars: Force Unleashed, but...well...we'll see. I'm also disappointed Nintendo didn't announce a first party baseball title for the Wii like Sony's been doing with MLB: The Show.

That means we're stuck with another shitty 2kSports baseball game next season.


I think I'm going to pick up a 360 before the end of this year. I was entertaining buying a PS3, but I see no reason to buy one now that Xbox has FF and GTA, and likely another KOTOR game on the way in the next few years.

The games are just so much stronger on the 360 at this point.

Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony are allowed to make first party MLB games, under the contract.

Sony makes The Show.

Nintendo and Microsoft could follow suit, but haven't yet.


After the disaster that was MLB 2k8 this year, I would think they'd all be making one for '09. Especially Nintendo, since the Wii's suppose to be a sports console. The controls on 2k8 actually aren't bad and kind of fun, but the layout of the game makes it almost unplayable.

Actually I need to revise that statement just a bit.

I picked up Godfather: Blackhand Edition for like $17 at Circuit City today and it's actually (at least so far) the best third party Wii game I've played.

It's no GTA, but you do get the added bit of fun that comes with pummeling someone to death with the Wiimote and nunchuck.

ohh, RE 4 smokes that Godfather game, IMO. Nothing like executing a perfect headshot with the Wiimote and watching zombie head explosions. If you like the Godfather game, you'll enjoy RE4.

It's another thing that kind of sucks about the Wii, though...there's so much potential for senseless violence with the Wiimote and there's only a handful of game out there that really capitalize on it.

If you want to wait until winter, Dead Rising is going to be released on the Wii. Fighting your way through a mall full of zombies should work well with the Wii controls.
