Does Preacher count? Cassidy is a pretty cool vampire and is one of the main characters of the series, although it isn't strictly a "vampire series."
The continuation of the Buffy and Angel (season 8 and season 6) in comic book form are also pretty good, especially Buffy.
I also liked Crimson while it lasted. It sucked that it ended as quickly as it did (no pun intended). They really needed another year or two to wrap up the story.

Not the best, but 1/2 of Anthilini was a model for Vampirella.

And it's still pretty gay.
Vampires are hopelessly emo.

There's a very famous Image superhero book with a surprise vampire reveal that you could suggest (I don't want to spoil for anybody who didn't read comics in the late 90's).

The Mark Millar/ Grant Morrison Vampirella had a real Buffy feel to it.
Also can't go wrong with Blade/ Tomb of Dracula.

There is currently a Lost Boys comic about the Frogg Bros, but I don't know if it's any good.

Wasn't there an arc about John dealing with vampires in Ennis' Hellblazer run that was pretty decent?

That is one I don't remember; or I no longer remember that it was a surprise.
Unless you are talking about
Astro City
... in which case I know exactly what you mean.

If he's referring to your spoiler, I don't think the hero in question was a very famous superhero.
But you're right, other than that, I have no idea either, and I read comics in the late '90's.

I said it was a famous superhero book, not a book about a famous superhero. And yes, that was what I was referring to.

It was a good arc, but kind of "took the piss" on the whole vampire thing.

I wanted to get into Morpheus ... but Marvel killed that.
Moonlight, the new book series, might be a cool graphic novel.

There's this series called "Guilty Pleasure" out by Marvel. It's based off this book series by Laurell k hamilton. with romance vampire stuff.

?
You mean Morbius the Living Vampire? Marvel did a bunch of Legion of Monsters specials a while back that had Morpheus, Dracula, Satana, and Lilith.

Oh, how could I forget...
Essential Dracula from Marvel was fucking genius. Plus the Dracula adaptation was also great.

Somehow I missed the word "book" in your post.
And I'd challenge that's even a famous superhero book. Well regarded, somewhat popular but not a famous book.

Yeah, it'd need a movie or TV show to be truly "famous." I really meant well-known and highly regarded.

Do you think it really was well-known even among comic book fans?
I'm not trying to be argumentative. I thought it was more of a hidden type of gem, something a lot of readers were unaware of, but I could be wrong. Especially since there was an article or two about it in Wizard.

I was as hardcore DC/ Marvel as it got my first year of college and I heard enough good things about it that I ended up picking up an issue. At the time it seemed like everybody else who was reading comics was in on it before I was. It was probably the first "indie" comic I ever read come to think of it...

I picked up the book when in TPB, and none of my friends were comic book fans so I never knew what others were reading other than a sense of books selling out, publicity, etc.

Have they collected The Vampire Lestat into a TPB yet?
The artwork is pretty good in that one (not fabulous, but pretty good.)

I have the hardcover. I know I got it cheap like 10 years ago...
