People are stabbing each other in my country and it needs to stop NOW

[News Story] GORDON Brown has pledged to introduce measures to tackle knife crime following a weekend where at least 17 people were stabbed across the country.



I can't beleive how bad things are getting over here. Young kids are killing each other and people are at a loss as to why. I have a cousin who is 15 and tonight he tod me that at least three of his friends are wearing stab vests. Kids his age do not feel safe without carrying a knife. I live in a suburb of Leeds which is in the north of England. Now you here about this shit happening in London all the time but no one feels safe.

I hope Prime Minister Gordon Brown introduces a mandatory sentance of something like 5 years for ANYONE who carrys a knife. We don't have as much freedoms as you do in the US because of your constitution but I'm happy to see people get a mandatory sentance for carrying a gun and hope to soon see it for knifes too.


Hope this isn't too out of left field but after talking to my cousin earlier it kind of woke me up to what is happening.

It really would be nice if we could just "get along" as human beings and not attack each other.

At least you don't have kids with handguns in the streets in the UK. And with a knife you have a chance at defending yourself if you are face-to-face.

I carry two knives at all times, and never stabbed anybody.
I also have several guns, and a concealed carry permit for my Glock,
but I never shot anybody either.
Perhaps weapon ownership isn't the problem...

Jeebus, even I carry a swiss army knife. I dont see how you could enforce a no knives rule anyway. All you have to do is carry a boxcutter or a screwdriver instead
