Rob, I'll try that. Thanks.

A coworker just got the new Curve.

It doesn't have the trackball which could be good.

I loved the trackball on my Pearl but it's giving me problems now and probably time to ditch it.

Are they really getting rid of the trackball? What will they use instead?

I believe it is only one model of the Curve getting the non-trackball, it is an optical pad they use instead.

I have the Curve 8900 and it has a trackball. The Curve 8520 which is similar to 8900 will not have the trackball.

I hate touchpads

Ok, so I joined the crackberry cult yesterday with a Tour. Since I'm not reading 21 pages of discussion, is there a shortlist of must haves for it?

I found a Storm today on the side of the road. It was missing the back cover and there was a little bit of dampness behind the screen. I see a little bit of rust on the exposed metal in the back. It seems to have a mico usb charger instead of the mini, which I happen to have. It has the battery and sim card from Verizon. I am charging it up now and will see how and if it comes on.

I lost the ring around my trackball yesterday....should i be worried about losing the trackball now?

I lost my Blackberry on the side of the road last night, the only piece of it I have left is the back cover. Verizon said I have to pay full price for a replacement.

What road?

not sure, I was driving home from friends house in Great Neck, and I was holding it out the window, taking a video. It wasn't until I got home that I realized that I was only holding on to the rear cover and the rest of the Blackberry was gone.

I found this one in Old Westbury on a horse trail on the side of the service road. It must have been there for weeks. I tried everything, it won't turn on. I charged it, and cleaned it. Blew it out with air. It had sand in it and dampness behind the screen. I see a little rust on the internal metal surfaces. I was so expecting this thing to come on! I honestly would have traded in my Bold for the Storm if it did.

Facebook is lame because I can't even view my inbox
It came with maps preinstalled, but they wanna charge me an extra $10 a month for GPS, but I did install Google Maps
And I think I like Ubertwitter over Twitterberry

love my new 8900. the UMA technology is amazing (in my mind). that will surely be the dagger in the heart of landlines.

if you dont know, the UMA tech allows you to connect to your wireless router and talk using that. this is perfect for the instances of where you dont have good reception in your house. i can be on a call outside my house (full strength), and walk inside the house to finish. it'll automatically swap me over to wi-fi without dropping the call. again, quite amazing.

The only thing I am able to make happen with that Storm is make the red LED come on when it is being charged. I tried it with the power cord with and without the battery in, and it just won't come on. I think its shot. It cleaned up pretty nice though. Oh well.

You should be able to view your inbox if you go into your won profile.

Actually if you go into another person's profile, say to post on their wall, you then scroll to the top of that page and it'll say Home, Profile, Friends, Inbox, Message, Poke and Call.\

Click on Inbox will take you there.

It doesn't allow you to easily view any and all messages but it'll at least show you the most recent ones.

piece of shit machine. all of a sudden, i take it out of my pocket and the keyboard or side buttons don't work at all. the ball scrolls but can't select. i've done everything you could possibly do to fix it, every solution online and nothing. fuck this piece of shit. i'm going to the verizon store tomorrow and throwing thru the window.

and if anyone says 'did you take out the battery' just fucking die in a fire.

I've never had a Blackberry before and now I find out my new gig will be giving me one. I'm at least 2 weeks out from having it in hand but a few questions come to mind.

How do I use the damn thing?!?

Will my iphone and Blackberry fight in my pocket?

What can the blackberry do that the iphone can't?

If my blackberry and iphone turn me on while fighting in my pocket...does that count as cheating?

I don't know if it's been brought up in the thread, but how to you clean the trackball? Mine is starting to stick a little bit. Any quick fixes?

If you have the BB software installed on your computer you just need to plug your phone in and click "check for updates" , it should do the rest.

the details are available at www.verizonwireless.com/storm I can tell you that the new SMS texting is much better than before, and the camera will now take a picture much faster than it did.

I have the bold, and wonder if anyone knows how to disable getting a confirmation that I sent an email. It's very annoying that I get this and it fills up my inbox, anyone know how to turn it off?

go to the email account
press menu
email settings
it'll be really obvious

i had to turn on my old blackberry to get those instructions for you, just cause i care.

ok, i'll rethink it being obvious, confirm deliver/confirm read, make those "no".

I went to the rim website and saw they have this offer for signing up for blackberry app world where you can sign up and get $15 back. Well, they must have messed up on the sign up page there is no way to click the submit button because it seems it can't be viewed on either my blackberry or my ipod touch. Why not make a page that can be viewed by the device that you are trying to market your service towards?

sr71blackbird

Here is the link to the page I am referring to:

http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/paypal_signup.jsp

Try and view that on your blackberry browser.

I tell ya, if anything, this is an indication of why pwoplw are gravitating away from the Blackberry. Its obvious they are dropping the ball and their marketing must not truly understand what people use their phones for.
