I've never been a big PC gamer OTHER than one MMORPG I was playing (FFXI), and RTS such as Warcraft, Command & Conquer, and Starcraft.
Tried WoW. Easy and a joke compared to other MMORPGs.

I played WoW hardcore for like 3 months, than just lost interest. I feel less toolish at least. But there is an actual shade of guilt that I abandoned people I have never met in my guild. It's bizaare.

I played FFXI for a while. I was on Bahamut. I had a THF leveled up to 60. Do you know how fucking hard it was to get THF that high in FFXI????
I ended up quitting because it was WAY too much of a timesink. Couldn't level unless you had a full party, which could take hours to get, and then you were expected to play for hours. The final straw was when I had been in a party for 4 hours and kept warning them, I have to leave at soandso time, have to get my husband from the train station. Someone seriously told me "No - you'll break the party, this is more important, call him a cab". That was it for me.
Do people still pay FFXI?

I played FFXI for a while, beta tested for Sony since Late 2003. I was on Bahamut. I had a THF leveled up to 60. Do you know how fucking hard it was to get THF that high in FFXI????

I just quit for the second time a few months ago, and finally for good. I was on the Ragnarok server. I beta-tested too, so I have played since late 2003.
Took me three years to get a Monk to 75, quit that character after realising that end-game was run by 13 year olds, and was botted a LOT. Also, went on Team Speak during a HNM event, and I quit that next day. I was so angry that there were pre-pubescent cocksuckers telling me waht to do.
Started a new character last August, and got PLD and WAR to 75 in 8 months. It is THAT easy now. I actually really like it, cuz there is so much to do now other than HNM scene. I just couldn't put the time needed into it like I used to.
Definitely, the most challenging and somewhat rewarding MMORPG out there. I actually felt like I worked for something, and you end up having to thank a lot of people for all ofthere help. That is also the downfall...

I like how wow is set up you can go through the game solo but there are a few things that you'll have to party up for there not require but they do give you some nice goodies It does work well with the rotating schedule i'm on atleast the soloplay stuff kindof hard to make it to party evnets but there is generally enough people on that we can scratch something togeather
