It's nice but not vital. I prefer to cook for myself and for others. I'm very specific about what I like. Also, a lot of guys I come across tend to overdo it with oil and stuff (e.g. - using a whole stick of butter when only a small amount is necessary)... sure it tastes good but I'll wind up having indigestion, or worse yet, a heart attack.

i can cook, but only if i'm following a recipe. & this only started since i've been with my current boyfriend. before then i would never cook anything except pasta. so having a boyfriend who's much more creative in the kitchen than i am is a big plus.

I enjoy cooking but I know that I am still learning and experimenting with my dishes, so it's always nice when a man knows his way around a kitchen. Especially when you are living together... sometimes it's nice to split the responsibilities.

But it's not a big deal if he can't... he can always make it up to me in other ways...
(like doing the floors... :) )

BeerBandit is a wonderful cook...but I always saw it more as "icing on the cake". It's nice to have around, but I would have married him anyway.

That being said, I have gotten spoiled by him. He has a few dishes that only he cooks because he makes them better than me (ask him about his angel hair and prosciutto). I cook dinner most nights just because I am home during the day, but he makes me the yummiest breakfasts on weekend mornings. Plus he does dishes, which I hate. All in all, not a bad deal.
