Okay I live in an apartment complex and we are not allowed to use Gas or Charcoal grills, i have a small George Foreman but I want something for outside on my balcony. I know electric grills are not great but better then nothing. So this is what I was looking at:
http://www.amazon.com/Char-Broil-Patio-Caddie-Electric-Grill/dp/B00004TBJ6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1215529373&sr=1-1
Does anyone know anything about this or about other electric outdoor grills that are good?
Thanks

i am in the same boat right now. my old apt i was allowed a gas grill, but now i need electric. my only other option is to rent a garage, keep the grill in there, and then take it out of the garage when i want to use it. i am actually considering it for 75 bucks a month unless people tell me the electric grills are like 80% as good as a gas grill.

someone also suggested a grill pan to me for the stove/oven but those things smoke out a kitchen unless you have a great exhaust system, which I don't.
I may just go with the electric grill i linked above unless people have other ideas.

Just get one of these, and move your George Foreman grill outside. Problem solved.

Don't bother with the electric grill. (they just don't work) It's like throwing a steak in the toaster oven!
I swear by charcoal, but if I was in your situation I'd buy this one...

The fuel source is small like a camping stove. Unplug the canister and put it away when you're done cooking. If you get busted, and someone says "no dice", clean up the thing and throw it on Ebay.

We got the Foreman outdoor grill. It's ok. The first meal I made (chicken) tasted plastic-y. The second thing, burgers and dogs, came out fine. They're pretty easy to clean too.

I cant have a gas grill either. I was thinking about buying the foreman outdoor grill because the other grilling machine is pretty good.
Im not looking to grill up huge Tbones or anything, but it would be nice to find something that can grill a burger or some steak tips.
So how many times have you used it? i think the first time would ruin the meal only because its new and it's got to get that "new stench" off it.

i recently lived in an apt complex and had a balcony on the 2nd floor. they had similar rules but I went and bought this tabletop weber grill that takes these small/thin propane tanks... best move i've made in a long time. thing works great and i was cooking burgers, steaks, kielbasi, and chicken all winter long
i first had it on top of a plastic table and it warped a little so I then put a cutting board on the table and the grill on that
it's small enough to bring inside if management was gonna take a visit.

1) I had to go electric because we were in NYC and had no place to put a grill. But the burgers were nice and juicy. The chicken was nice and tender. The hot dogs were nice and plump. And the electric grill did put on those nice grill lines on there.
2) Propane? What kind of savages are you? Go charcoal or go home.
