my brother is looking to get an xm radio and looked at myradiostore.com and found a couple he might like. my question is has anyone bought an xm unit from here and if so, does it come activated like the ones purchased through xm?

You can activate it via the xm website or 1-800 number. I have nothing but great things to say about MRS and the guys who run it.

Of course, if you do order from them, be sure to use one of the ads on the left to get to the site.

I ordered from myradiostore.com never had a probelm. Just activate it from the XM web site. I think it is cheaper. I had a problem with a battery for a MyFi and I contact them and they just sent me a replacment battery, no questions asked. I did not have to ship back the bad battery.

I've bought some stuff from My RadioStore and they get my seal of approval. Fast turnaround, fast shipping. In fact, I just sent them a tech question and they responded within 10 minutes.

Nothing but love for MRS. Used the linky, got my stuff quick, no hassle, even handled the rebate quicker than I've ever had done.

I wish I had the money to buy all the loverly peoples on this board a radio. Then we could all smash it in a show of support for the buddays.

I have been wanting an Inno for over a year now...ever since stoopid Best buy in Maine wouldn't sell me one last fall because I didn't have a US address.... I think I am going to order one thru MRS, but I have a question first. I was reading the user guide and came to the part about compatibility with operating systems. I noticed that Vista wasn't listed, so is it compatible? I only ask because I had a problem today with a Bluetooth key that I tried to install and it wasn't compatible.

Fucking mis-leading ad from XM!

http://www.xmradio.com/shop/specialoffers.xmc

Make sure you pay attention to the part about "FROM A PARTICIPATING RETAILER".

Who's not qualified? Well it's right there in the fine print once you fill out the form! (Who the fuck fills out the form BEFORE they make a purchase?)

Purchases made from Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal Mart, Target, Sam's Club, Costco, Kmart, Sears, Staples, Toys R Us, xmradio.com and through XM's Special Promotion Programs are not eligible for this mail-in rebate.

Who are the Authorized Retailers????

Their customer service department couldn't tell me. Just "some of the smaller ones".

From what I'm reading in this thread... MyRadioStore is an authorized retailer?

I was talked into to going through Best Buy to get their Geek Squad to install the Car Kit.

For anyone thinking of buying a new unit, CHECK THE FINE PRINT!!!

Or, go to MyRadioStore, I guess.

Fucking Bullshit.

MRS is the largest independent xm dealer.

MRS is the largest independent xm dealer.

See, that's my point! They wouldn't divulge on the phone who the "Authorized XM Retailers" are who will honor this rebate, and my email to them yesterday has yet to be answered. All she would say was that those listed that were excluded, were "some of the bigger chains who probably offer their own rebate. This promotion was for some of the smaller retailers"... or some bullshit to that effect.

Then I read that MRS, one of the largest dealers, was able to offer the rebate, and I'm fucking furious!

I wan't my fifty bucks dammit!

Plus, I'm in here doing what I told the bitch on the phone I was going to do, was to try to warn others about this mis-leading promotion, and with the upcoming merger, I wouldn't suggest that anyone buy one of their promotional products right now.

I feel like shooting off an email to Pioneer or some of the other manufacturers of XM receivers and letting them know about this horseshit.
