Podcasting issues

I started a podcast with a few friends. At first we recorded the show onto a Tascam mixer and it was fine, except we couldnt upload the show. So now were recording the show onto a labtop and we are now experiencing a problem of delay from the microphones through our head sets

anyone know why this might be happening?

Key word is latency. I don't kow what it means but it effects the way I record when I try to do multi-tracking and listen to a base track while I record an overdub. You should record to the tascam, upload it to a recording program, and double check that the recording doesn't skip. I think this may be useless but I'm drunk so woohoo.
