My DVD shelf consists of Grand Theft Auto 4, Rock Band, MLB The Show 08, The Diving Bell and The Butterfly, There Will Be Blood and Playboy's Erotic Home Videos (my wife just renewed our subscription) right now.

Although, I am moving on Sunday and all of my DVDs are packed already. But it is a hilarious (or pathetic) sight.

Also, do you still play your PS2 and Gamecube games? I traded all mine in (including my actual PS2) for some decent money to buy new games.

I don't play them all that much, but I kept the ones I really liked and might want to revisit. If I trade in something I usually do it right away. Like I've already ditched Assassin's Creed for PS3 and Sonic and the Secret Rings and Red STeel for Wii. If I like a game I like to hang on to it. I have a bunch PS1 games somewhere.

I always got weirdly nostalgic or something with games, so I had all these awful, old PS2 games I was never going to play again, but for some reason I thought I might. I finally just got rid of them. Now I'm getting rid of a lot of games quick. Once I beat Super Mario Galaxy, I got rid of it. And I got rid of R6V2 pretty quick.

Plus, I bought the cheap, non-backwards compatible PS3, so I just ditched my PS2 games.

edit: the vhs tapes lower left are from 9/11. I popped a tape in when it happened and just let it record all day while switching channels.

I got rid of my DVD boxes about 3-4 years ago. When you live in a small Manhattan apartment with a wife, and you own over 700 DVD discs, you run out of space quickly.

So now all my DVDs are in the large binders that hold like 260 discs.

People still buy DVD's???

thats what I was just thinking. the last DVD i bought had to be about 4-5 years ago. when you look at those cases, all i want to do is count the cases, multiply by 15 dollars, and cry about how much money i wasted at the time on shit i really never watch again. esp with digital cable, all these movies that are good enough to own are on TV all the time anyway, or free on demand

I don't have a picture, but I have about 250 DVDs. The bookself that stores them has run out of space. I need another one!

AND... they're in alphabetical order.

406 x let's say $10 equals $4,060!!

How do you all keep track of all your DVDs???

And which DVD in your collection have you watched more than 5 times?

if you are going to split your DVD collection from your kids you really should take the top shelf. You paid for all that, it's only fair.

I know, I could stand to prune back a few. A quick survey shows a good 30 or so I wouldn't miss (many of those being cheap kung fu movies). I should note that over 1/4 of my collection have been gifts.

I am fairly anal retentive but not so much that I keep track of how many times I've watched each movie. I'd bet that I've seen a good number of them 3-4 times. When it comes to 5+ times I'd probably say the Evil Dead movies, some Kevin Smith stuff, Spinal Tap & other Christopher Guest movies, Dr Strangelove and Goodfellas for sure.

I organize my DVD's thematically. All the TV seasons logically go together, as do directors and actors' work. Then I'll devote one rack to Asian films and the divide that in to genres, etc. it's kind of hard to explain and nobody else could easily find what they're looking for, but I could play Spin the Hits with my collection without any problem.

Yes it is. However, my father-in-law had that when my wife was a kid so its a sentimental keepsake rather than a piece of movie memorabilia.

All I see is wasted space. I know what my movies are about. I can do without the box art and the summary on the back.
