My 56" Samsung broke and the (2nd) replacement television is coming tomorrow. But they don't make the 56" anymore. So the 61" is showing up.

It's not size of it, it's how you use it..(If that quote doesn't scream, "I have a little dick", I don't know what does..)

Are you gonna use it with Cable or satellite? V.H.S. or Beta-max?

EDIT: I wanted a new Mod quote anyway..

Same thing happened to me. The digital board shit out and they said it would be 1200$ to repair. I said fuck it and bout the 61inch. I also bought the warranty this time.

1080p is useless under 40". Upgrade.

a lot of people say it is useless under 50" at certain viewing distances, i think over 8 or 9 ft.

also since most sources are not 1080p, and in the future most likely will not be, sometimes the extra money is not worth it. all HDTV is 720p, and i doubt they will have the bandwidth to do it in 1080p. i think only blue ray and 5% of xbox games are really 1080p

QFT...that's why I went with a 720p...I didn't want anything bigger than a 32'' for the time being.

And as has also been mentioned in this thread already, the won't be broadcasting in 1080p anytime soon, so it's only useful with Blu-Ray.

The question I have...is there a noticable difference between an upconverting DVD player and a Blu-Ray player on a 720p TV?

Because I'm seriously considering just buying an upscaler and sticking with regular DVDs for the foreseeable future, because I think it'd just be a waste of money to buy a Blu-Ray for a 720p.

I got a 42" Vizio LCD just before the Super Bowl, and even though I know it's not top of the line, when a sporting event is in HD (Super Bowl, Yanks on YES, etc.), it is worth every damn penny. Now if only Comcast would carry HDnet, or Spike HD, or UFC PPVs in HD, I could finally watch some fghts in HD...and I have to think those would be oustanding as well.
