Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla, opening in theaters on October 31.
In the flick, starring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jeremy Piven, Idris Elba and Tom Wilkinson, a Russian mobster orchestrates a crooked land deal, causing millions of dollars to be up for grabs, and all of London's criminal underworld wants in on the action. Everyone from a dangerous crime lord to a sexy accountant, a corrupt politician and down-on-their-luck petty thieves conspire, collude and collide with one another in an effort to get rich quick.
It's been eight years since Snatch and what has Guy Ritchie done lately?
A couple of bad movies I hear. I never saw his last one, Revolver, which I never heard a good thing about.
But it looks like he's back to his Lock, Stock and Snatch formula with this one. I just recently rewatched both those movies and with the exception of missing some of the cockney accent words, they're still damn entertaining.
He got himself all new actors too, which is good. Especially Thandie Newton - where have you been?

The trailer looks pretty good.
I never saw "Swept Away", which he made with his bride Madonna. Apparently it was so bad Madonna retired from acting.

Jeremy Piven is a god to me. He is able to be so many different people. I remember watching him in movies with John Cusack when I was a kid and always being interested in him. Then I found out he has been best friends with Cusack forever and they went to the same school.
I want to see this movie, I like Guy and I love when he gives his all to a movie. Minus the Madonna flick.

Neurotic and jittery different people?

I saw this about a month ago. It's okay from what I remember but doesn't break any new ground at all. It's basically just Snatch and Lock Stock again with a more complicated plot.

Old School he was nerdy. Grosse Point Blank cool and funny business guy, Smokin Aces very different played older it worked. Not to mention all the nerdy guys has played and his turn as Ari Gold on Entourage.
There is no doubt that he is able to act. Piven's brings a lot to any scene he is in, and makes most movies better because he is in it.

Of all the actors I can think of who can actually play something other than themselves, Jeremy Piven isn't even close to being on that list.
He's entertaining, but come on...every character is a variation of the same douchebag guy.
Saw this flick, and it's definitely very watchable. Not as good as the first 2, but miles better than the trainwreck mess that was Revolver.

Wasn't "Revolver" highly influenced by his wife's crazy-ass "magic bracelet" religion?

Or Layer Cake. Or Sexy Beast. Or Get Carter. Or The Limey. Or the king of them all, one of the best mob flicks period, British or Amerian or otherwise...

Gangster No. 1 is awesome, but I hate the "modern" parts with Malcolm McDowell.
The torture scene in it is fucking brutal:

Movie was good..not great but good. I felt like I was watching a cheap or knock off version of snatch. A little confusion at the beginning but overall good. Again if you liked snatch which I loved, you will like this movie..and at least no Madonna references...at least none that I notices.....East village theater in Manhattan a great place to see a movie.
Im drunk..im hard..im soft Im out.

OST for this movie is really very good. The trailer showed a movie that looked to contrived as cool but this soundtrack might have hit "cool" dead nuts.
The dialogue tracks are great - I'm going to have to see it now.
" b/c a real rocknrolla wants the fucking lot." (they cut "lot" off the end which is tragic - I picked this up at the library btw)
