Ninja Gaiden 2 for 360

Has anyone played this game or heard enough about it to make me want to buy it?

If it's anything like the previous versions of the game, it's notoriously hard. Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox whipped my ass. I just ended up selling it because I just could not beat the first boss.

I have it and I have to restrain myself from throwing my controller through my TV. It's not because the game is impossibly hard (there are plenty of difficulty levels for everyone) it's that the camera can be so frustrating that you'll often find yourself getting beaten senseless just because you're near a wall, which makes some of the fancy moves a tad difficult to pull off. Aside from that gigantic problem, the control is crisp and fun. The blood effects are great and the obliteration animations are don't get old. Story is non-existant, but you're not playing Ninja Gaiden for the same reason you'd be playing something like Metal Gear Solid 4.

If you're a fan of high-speed baddie-slicing action and can tolerate a frustrating camera, it's worth at least renting. There are a bunch of difficulties and challenges to do to keep you busy for quite some time.

It looks like shit on the commercials. Anyone play the original one on NES? It was kind of like a ninja version of Castlevania. It might have been one of the first games to use that parallax thingameroo to create a sense of depth in the background. I had a pile of fun playing that one.

This game makes me want to take out my real ninja sword, and cut off real heads.

The original Nintendo game was so hard that if I ever got even as far as the third level, I would have no lives left, then die and have to start all over.

This new one looks great, the gore is incredible, and it is fun. But it is SO FUCKING HARD. You can attempt levels all you want, so dying doesn't matter much, but you have to save up so much shit to buy health and stuff, then when you use it all while fighting a boss, then die anyway, you start the fight all over with NO shit left to help. Bullshit! I stopped playing because I can't get past the big spider ninja guy at the flaming pagoda.
