So listening to the "song ripoff" discussion on O+A today a few others came to mind.
Original-->Ripoff
Iggy Pop-Lust for Life-->Jet-Are You Gonna Be My Girl
Pink Floyd-Echoes-->Andrew Lloyd Weber-Phantom of the Opera main theme
Check out the video

Anthony's favorite song ever, Check you for Ticks by Brad Paisley, is a rip-off of Wildflowers by Tom Petty...the chorus is anyway.

This is a sweet topic. its fuckin unbelieveable how much songs sound the same until you realize it and hear then together. Here is the vid they talked about with the Satriani tune. And then you have the creaky floor or whatever the fuck they are. Thats almost wayyyyyyy to co-incedental (Spelling is hard sometimes) Now I think the video should show below if I did this right

Ron had a great line when the Chili Peppers were being accused of ripping off Petty. Something like, "Before he accuses anyone of stealing he'd better send a check to Dylan for every song he's ever written."
Petty's songs are so simplistic that anyone who uses less than five chords is probably going to come up with something vaguely familiar to one of his tunes.

Yeah the Joe Satriani track is insanely close to what Coldplay just put out. I much prefer Joe's song anyway as I love his guitar style.
A side note about the one I posted about Pink Floyd's Echoes in one of the songs on one of his solo albums Roger Waters has these lyrics
We cower in our shelters, with our hands over our ears
Lloyd Webber's awful stuff runs for years and years and years
An earthquake hits the theatre, but the operetta lingers
Then the piano lid comes down and breaks his fucking fingers
It's a miracle
Can't help but laugh.
Speaking of Echoes, try the 2001 Beyond the Infinite thing some time, it's awesome.
I agree on CT & Jivin, I caught their show last Sunday afternoon. Hadn't heard it before but really enjoyed the crazy drunk stories. I'll definitely tune in regularly.

Damn! That's a good one. If stolen, it was pretty clever of Brad to turn that beautiful verse melody into a chorus. I say Mike Campbell and Brad Paisley settle this one in the octagon.

I know the strokes got in trouble for ripping off tom petty, but they really rip alot of bands pretty hard. Alot of their sound comes from Television, but their first single really reminds me of the buzzcocks song 'everybody's happy nowadays'

I can't believe it took Kidrock to bring this to my attention, but Warren Zevon's Werewolves of London ripping off Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama really irks me. And I'm not a big Skynyrd fan, but the Zevon was a no talent hack.
