It looks like a dramatic transfer season this time around, what do you guys think?

I think it's funny L.A. Galaxy tried to bid for Ronaldinho.

The only thing I have to add is that I hope Leeds sign Kevin Phillips.

Yeah, Adebayor is too good for the Gunners. I can't stand Arsenal.

Really wanted you to go up last season since Macca is your manager, such a legend!

Kevin Phillips would be a great shout for you guys, good goal scorer for the brums.

As for Liverpool, Podolski please!!! Wont happen, but wishful thinking.

As far as I understand the US system. No. There's no collegiate system in soccer so no draft or anything like that. On a side note I think this is the reason the US can't produce a big number of players who can compete at the top level. Barring a few exceptions of course. I think I once told Ronnie B this. If a European or south American kid is good enough they will throw him in the first team at 16 years old. By the time the US kids have finished college they're in their early 20s and other players from around the world have years on the competing at the top level.

Back to the transfer season. Players can only move between the top clubs 2 times in the year. For a month in January and then in the European closed season in the summer.

Yeah, soccer's a crazy game like that... It's the only sport where 30 means you're old.

Allow me to vent a little.

i really cant beileve this deal will go ahead , it has caused so much anger(not to mention hurt and old wounds being reopened) from Leeds fans that Kewell, could even Think about going there, lets remember that dreadfull night 8 years ago when 2 Leeds fans were murdered by galatasary fans in Turkey.

Kewell , was there that night, playing for Leeds, the night our players had to run on to a football pitch behind riot shields, and the players were subjected to sick taunts all night long, and disrespect by the Gala players by Not wearing black arm bands, or having a mnutes silence, whilst i am sure Gala are offering mega bucks, and that is all Kewell has ever been interested in, i cannot believe he would even think about moving there. At one point we stood in unison and turned our back to the pitch and held out own minutes slience. It was such an emotional night and the feelings are been pulled out again.

Shame on you Harry Kewell.

I am new to the board and am glad there are people discussing football/soccer

My 2 cents...
1. The US needs academies. MLS teams should invest in academies and work on summer time tourneys between UK and US academies. It will get our kids seen young. Apparently in the US it is only ok for a kid from the projects to get a contract at 18.

2. Promotion and relegation. The MLS sucks. There are definitely United Soccer League teams that could smoke teams like Real Salt Lake. European teams recognize this. I saw the Richmond (VA) Kickers play Crystal Palace in a suprisingly competetive friendly a few years back. Scrub MLS teams should get the boot and have to earn they way back and teams like Vancouver get a shot at the top flight.

3. More sectarianism. Nothing says football like violent firm clashes. The Galaxy and Chivas need to be more like the Old Firm. I think LA would really relate to the savage violence and blinding hatred.

4. More drunken show tunes. Songs about bubbles and not walking alone should pack the stands.

Does Man City really think it can get Ronaldinho?

Robbie Keane going to Anfield or Parkhead?

Geordies going to lose Martins?

Will Jesus sell his stake in KaKa?

Villa fans need a miracle. It was just a crippling loss of talent.http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:CHgVp0t2-dCueM:http://www.wrexhamafc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/18/5a/0,,10311~3365400,00.jpg

Nothing major will happen 'til the end of this month (unless you count Mark Hughes getting a Job as major), and then it will really go insane. Right now, it's all papertalk.
