Impressed? No, but three issues in and I'm not hating it. I'll stick with it for another few issues to see where it's going and then decide whether or not I'm in for the whole run.
I think the problem with these year long stories is the pace is slower than most monthly books to stretch the story out for the whole 52 weeks and as a reader that can be frustrating. We're used to monthly story arcs wrapping up in 4 or 6 issues and that hasn't happened in any of these weekly books.
The writing is solid though. Busiek has the characters down and acting/sounding consistent with their regular books. I don't know the antagonists well enough to remember if they're behaving normally or not. I also like the back-up ('B'?) story so far and am curious to know more about 'Enigma'. I'm indifferent about LeFey but you have to admit she's not an overused character. If they can keep Luthor, Darkseid and the Joker out of this story as major players and and give these newbies a chance, I'll be a happy camper. Is 'Tarot' a new character or has she appeared elsewhere? I think Jose is Jose Delgado who used to be Gangbuster back in the '80s.
Bagely's art is also solid. I can follow what's happening from panel to panel and everyone is recognizable. Same for Nicieza & Ordway's work in the 'B' story. I think Ordway is a fantastic artist, BTW (and one of the co-creators of Gangbuster).
So overall, a C+ or B- for the effort so far.

i still don't understand what people want in the first few issues of a year long series, how much do you expect to happen in 20 pages.

im digging it so far. konvict knocking the shit out of superman really has me excited about the next few issues. the first issues were a little slow but i like the development because i am really just starting to get into DC.
the more books i have read recently from DC,it has really drawing me in. i just finished the sinestro corps war and recently read crisis on infinite earth, infinite crisis, identity crisis, and some green arrow stuff. i think i am really starting to like the DC universe more than marvel.

I'll give it several more issues to get better. I was stupid to keep buying Countdown hoping that it would get better or be a good lead in for Final Crisis. But it didn't, and it even had some contradictions with Final Crisis regarding Orion's death.

DC can suck my balls if they think I'm shelling out for another weekly.

DC company wide seems to have dropped the ball editorially, Countdown leading to Final Crisis has contradictory elements
Salvation Run seems like it would have been a better lead in for Final Crisis and yet that sort of fell abart in the end as well as

I read an interview with Grant Morrison in which he discussed this issue. He said that the first issue of Crisis was written long before Countdown and Death of the New Gods, but he didn't really explain how the disconnect happen.
But the other issue with Final Crisis was the discussion of Orion and the New Gods with some of the Justice League members. Orion was a member of the Justice League for god's sakes, during Morrison's run (and Mister Miracle had been a member in the '80's).. And while Stewart and some other current JLA members weren't members at the time, I'd have to believe that they would have more familiarity with Orion and the New Gods.
I understand the purpose of the conversation was exposition to give the readers info on Orion and the New Gods, but that could have been done in another way that fit better.

Dc Comics Latest Weekly Series of the likes of 52 and Countdown that supposedly is about the big 3 Superman Batman and Wonder woman
holy crap its horrible
i enjoyed sorta the whole first half of the first issue the them hanging out as a bunch of friends but like just as JLA had a issue telling us that they have there own secret meeting dimensional portal room i didn't understand why they had to meet at the end of a dock in public
then the second half with these nobody villains
it just blows
im not enjoying this at all
i think ill just go a couple more weeks if 4 and 5 are still shitty i dunno

I'm so glad someone else feels this way also. This title has been utterly disappointing so far. I gave it three issues and won't be buying it anymore.
