What will be the worst summer movie? I think 'Wanted' is going to be king shit.
-an adapted screenplay that removes the only interesting elements of a bad comic, from the team that wrote the fast and furious sequels.
-lead actor does not do these kinds of movies
-director may or may not speak english
-angelina jolie is super hot but really hasn't done a movie anyone wants to see since Hackers.

So far it has been Speed Racer.
The early reviews are pining and shitting on The Love Guru. We'll see what happens...

I'm oddly confident about Wanted. I really enjoyed the comic, they've got a great cast, plus it's got a hard R rating, which is a good sign for an action film. At least if it sucks as an overall film there's going to be some serous asskickery going on. There's absolutely no way it's worse than The Love Guru.

I am oddly confident that I will be disappointed in Wanted, mostly for the fact they stray so far from the Comic.

I thought so at first, too, but it's getting oddly good buzz from the fanboys that obsess over such things. That, and I fully admit I'm a sucker for the extended trailer.

My thing is that a shitty serious movie is always worse than a shitty silly movie.
I feel like wanted would've gone over alot better for me if it had come out in the late 90s. That cynicism just seems so played out. Plus, at one point, the main character casually relates how he raped someone, and that kind of stretch totally takes me out of the story.

I also know Millar had some part in the movie process so maybe it wont be too bad, just mad they cut out the best part of the comics.
Mojo, we have talked at length about this movie on numerous occasions, and we all know it will suck but you just don't want to admit you just love good ole fashion action movies because you want people to believe you are an intellect :)

I agree, that bit really sticks out. I know the series is supposed to be supremely nihilistic, but that part, plus the slaughter of all the cops, seemed to be trying too damn hard. I enjoyed the rest of it for the concept of supervillains finally winning.

Thats the part I like, and if they did an ongoing series about the 5 families battling I'd read it. It bugs me that they dropped that from the movie. Although the superman character is kindof hack.

I didn't even know Wanted was based off of a comic book, so to me it just looks like a good, fun action flick. Of course seeing Angelina doesn't hurt either.
I would say it's gonna be a toss-up between Blah, Blah, Blah, The Zohan and The Love Guru.

So, before I cause a traffic jam on the information superhighway...
It was just a joke aimed at Fallon

Not only do the commercials for "The Love Guru" not make me laugh, they make me angry. It's hard to imagine that Myers would have the stones to think that that act could be funny. And they dragged Mini Me in for cheap midget jokes. He'd have a little more dignity if he took a job in a Tijuana donkey show.
It's one of those movies that makes you long for the days when you can go visit Arizona Bay.

I have the same reaction when I see the trailers for all those parody movies like Superhero Movie and Date Movie. Those commercials make me want to put my foot through the TV.

you have to create good franchises for them to count for anything.

So little expectations that The Happening would be any good,
so the big failure will be The Love Guru.

I think The Happening was far worse than anyone expected. It's frankly amateurish. You wouldn't pass film school if you made a movie like it.
