The Voice Mail announcement lady

I notices that it always seems to be the same woman's voice in announcements. She almost has a librarian or secretary type voice. You never hear a cute girl sounding voice, nor do you hear a mans voice.
Do they use this woman's voice exclusively for some reason? Is there studies done that show that cute sexy voices or male voices cause more complaints than librarian types?

I always wondered about people that had the distinction of being known for something like that. Its like the operator on the phone. Does anyone really know someone who is an operator? I wonder what that jobs like, or if the voicemail lady kind of drops the bomb that shes that voice or whatever. I wonder what her own answering machine message is!
