fall out if i dye it too much? what is too much? is there anything i could do or take to make my hair thicker?

My hair is very fine and thin ("Oh, it's like baby hair!" gee, thanks!). I've found that any chemical processes will make it thicker. Don't do two processes at the same time (color and perm, for example); it'll strip your hair and make it like straw.

Just be careful about color. I had a friend who dyed her hair a miriad of colors over 2 years-- magenta, bleached blond, black. Her hair turned green (I'm not sure which color she was and then went to at that point).

Hair grows about 1/2 an inch a month. Give your hair a chance to rejuvinate itself.

my mom is always telling me that if i dye my hair too much it wll fall out. and now she's been saying that my hair looks likes it's thinning and she's gotten me parrinoid to do anything to it even though i've been wanting to dye it balck again.

sometimes, though i think she forgets that i've always had thin hair.

When was it the last time you dyed it? If you dye it every month, then your hair will suffer (it'll be dry and brittle; whether or not it will fall out, I'm not sure). If you dyed it in the last 3 or 4 months then I'd say, sure, go ahead and dye it! (and "touch ups" don't count!)

I think that you're hair falling out if you dye it too much is just an old wives tale. Im sure if you changed it monthly with a color that is ammonia based (like the ones at cvs) it will make it very porus but it won't make it fall out. Parents just say crap like that to try and scare us into being normal.
Dyes like manic panic and punky color are safe though beacuse they're vegetable based and dont damage your hair. its bleaching before you color thats bad for it. I dye my hair about ever 6 months and its decent. Its very thin, like a baby's, but its always been that way. I dont think dying your hair damages it all that much.

My hair is it's natural color now but i used to be REALLY blond... and yes...to much dye in your hair can make your hair fall out and grow in MUCH thinner esepcially if your bleaching it i.e.- with highlights... thats what i used to do... both my parents and my siblings have really thick hair... and i used to as well but it definately got a little thinner b/c/ of all the chemicals... be carefull w/ that stuff... my hairs back to normal now but it took abot 2 years... it'll still never be the same though so just cdefinately be carefull

i've never bleached my hair. if anything i try to make my hair as dark as possible. if i want to lighten it any, i use a light brown or a red.

Bleaching definately can make your hair fall out..it can actually make your hair kinda melt..it happened to me..it took me about a year to get my hair healthy again..as far as coloring your hair goes it does thin your hair if u do it enough..u should use leave in conditioner and wrap your hair a little while instead of blow drying..

all I know is that bleaching your hair blonde is worse than coloring it a darker color.

I used to dye my hair a lot, but then I just kept doing it to get layers of color and it got really unhealthy. I had to deep-condition it for months afterwards.

Now I just leave it alone. Live and learn, I guess. :)

I have a friend (male, of course) who used to dye his hair a different color every week in High School, now hes bald.....this is 100% true.

Take it from an X punk who bleached his jet black hair plat. blonde a few times. While dying your hair often may not make all your hair fall out....the chemical burns on the scalp are bothersome enough.
