FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that Michael Strahan has decided to retire.
"It's time. I'm done," Strahan said, who wanted to let teammates know before minicamp. While Strahan will be remembered for his record 22.5 sack season and his big mouth, he's a Hall-of-Famer because he was also consistently strong against the run. Strahan is fifth-all time in sacks and could enter the Hall with buddy Brett Favre and Warren Sapp in five years. The Giants pass rush will suffer, but they are well equipped to move Justin Tuck outside and use Mathias Kiwanuka more as a pass rusher. Jun. 9 - 11:26 am et

that sucks
but always leave on top
He has made tons of money for endorsements during and after the Superbowl
He also has the personality to be either on ESPN NFL Network Fox or CBS
So he will be fine Financially

Sure, the TV execs will just fall right to the ground for him.

One of my favorite comments about Strahan was something I heard in a bar during a Giants game: "What, the Giants don't have a dental plan?"

Considering Emmit Smith has a job still with ESPN, Strahan will definetly get a network job

GOOD:clap:
Somewhere in Boston today (since he was the game last night), Donovan McNabb is high-fiving everyone he sees.

Hopefully he gets Emmitt's job.
Worst commentator since Michael Irvin.

Keeep your EEEEEEEEEEEEDGE.. ECK!
Irvin is at least funny bad, Smith is just bad.
Its a loss but the Giants have a good crop of young DE's that they stockpilled. Not saying the will be Strahan but who knows. Who knew Strahan would be Strahan.
John Runyan is on his knees thanking God right now.

They were just talking on ESPN Radio about how football has only been keeping the stat of sacks for a relatively short period of the game's history, and I never knew that. They also mentioned that basketball hasn't always tracked blocked shots, baseball didn't always keep track of saves and used to track game-winning RBI's but no longer does that. I already knew the last two, but I was surprised about the first two. Anyone else think of relatively recent tracked stats like that tha we put a lot of weight on?

i knew about the sacks because whenever they used to say LT had the record they'd always add the asterik comment of but they've only keep track of the sacks as a stat since 1981 and Lt actually has 9 more sacks then they give him credit for because his first season they werent tracking them yet
and that if they were keeping track some guy on the vikings would have blown LT's number away

For years all I have heard about is how Deacon Jones would never have been touched in the record books if the would have kept track of sacks.
