What the hell happened to Shelly Smith from ESPN?
She has to be pushing 250 and her face is painted up like a clown.
Is she that good of a journalist to justify the food and makeup per diem she must be racking up?
Give Erin Andrews a call or something.

Hazel Mae is leaving NESN. ESPN should sign her up.

It's really amazing how the WWL will totally cut loose Harold Reynolds but will still stay with people like Joe Morgan.

She'll either wind up on YES or ESPN. A "talent" like that won't go wasted for long.

Word has it the Yankees are willing to trade Susyn Waldman for her.

Shelly Smith is awful. Holly Rowe is just as bad. She is a sideline reporter for a lot of their College games and is as fat as a cow. She looks awful in HD!

If it weren't for them sticking with Morgan, we wouldn't have the great blog Fire Joe Morgan (http://www.firejoemorgan.com).

Joe Morgan must have accumulated a mountain of backmail against ESPN. I've yet to meet a single person that can tolerate his post-playing career, his voice is incredibly grating, he has terrible presence on air, his insight and analysis is horrible, and he constantly lets his personal biases against players and teas come through. It's mind-boggling that he's still on the air.
Seriously, it's like putting Ron Santo on national broadcasts (who Joe doesn't think belongs in the HOF). NO GOOD.

Given Waldman's medical history, that's literally a 2 for 1 deal.

I can't hate on a member of the '83 Phillies, so I have brainwashed myself into believing Joe Morgan is an adequate color analyst.
I get the whole Ron Santo angle of the Cubs broadcast, and why he's there, but it gets painful to listen to sometimes.
He's no Sarge Matthews, like the Phillies currently have...Sarge was horrible at the beginning of last season, but has developed into a fantastic color guy. As far as the Phils' radio broadcast goes, Larry Andersen is kind of Santo-esque, although instead of being an uber-homer, he just spends all nine innings talking about how he wants to punch umpires in the face...it's actually kind of funny.

I think it's an equality thing. If ESPN cut those two loose and was wall-to-wall with thin, 10's for their female reporters, they would get KILLED. But on the flip side, you don't see any ultra-heavy male ESPN anchors, do you? Well, Kruk, but he's got personality and playing experience, so he gets a pass. I'm taking reporters and non-player anchors.

Kruk gets a million passes for being the only person on BT with a clue.
