We watch the daytime show during downtime at work. It's still very good, and Drew is an adequate replacement. No one can be Bob, but they could have done much worse. We laugh at the fact that Drew doesn't have the knack yet of guessing where the wheel will end. Bob knew what amount it was gonna end on way before it stopped spinning.

Bob would never put up with the hugging crap he was strictly business but Drew is doing alright. The million dollar shows are great but they seem to be getting a lot of just plain stupid people on there during the day.

Is Drew as suave and sophisticated as Bob Barker? No, of course not. But Bob Barker acted like he was curing fucking cancer or something. I like that Drew doesn't take himself, or the stupid show, too seriously.

I saw a show where the prize was like a jet ski and a big bottle of V8 juice, of all things. Obviously, for absolutely no other reason than that V8 was a sponsor and they had to cram it into the show somehow. Drew went out of his way to point out the ridiculousness of the whole thing throughout the entire game. Bob Barker would have played it straight to the end. I like that Drew doesn't insult the intelligence of the viewer -at least not as much. Afterall, it still is The Price Is Right - a show that retards can play along with.

He and the show staff all knew he nailed the showcase long before they revealed it to the winner. They tape the guess long before they tape the part where they reveal the results.

i can see that. carey does use inflection and a raised voice (from limited times i've seen the new show) to direct excitement, but sort of was too-cool-for-the room in this case. to me tho, it came off as more he was in shock the person got it exact. i also think the target audience has changed a bit for the new show. don't know what i'm basing it on, but the older seemed to be for old ladies and stoners and the new version is trying to be more "hip".
