I'm getting a haircut on Saturday. my hair right now is the longest its ever been. I kinda like it long, but am considering cutting it short. I used to have a choppy short Meg Ryan type of haircut. It was really easy to take care of, but I also like having my hair long because you can do more stuff with it... What should I do??
Cut it short? keep it long with layers? get highlights? Heeeellpp.

Missy...
My way of thinking is "It's Only Hair!"
But if you really need advice, I say keep it long...but change it up a little bit!

Missy-Definately go with the short choppy look (ie Meg Ryan). The highlights would have to depend on your nature hair color..I've always liked blonde highlights. I think that is because I don't have them (I got the red) :)
You better be going on Saturday so that we can all see the new do :)

Missy, I know how you feel!
But if it's gotta go, it's gotta
go! I think you'd look GREAT
with a short 'do! So go for it!
sometimes you just gotta
streamline!!!

short hair is much easier, but if you want to do stuff to it like put it up or anything like that maybe shoulder length. if you get highlights chesnut brown, or a medium to light brown would look good.

As a "recreational hair grower," I say cut it and grow it out again. Sometimes a good cut is refreshing!
I had hair down to my butt and on a whim I cut it all off and shaved it in the back. I was so happy! Then i grew it out again.

AMB... I feel your dilemma. I have NEVER had a real "hairdo". It just grows really long and I trim it. I'm too much of a pussy to layer it or cut it short because if it looked bad I'd probably have to be talked off a ledge. You have the kind of face shape that would look really cute with a shoulder-length cut or a little shorter, especially since your hair is pin-straight. As for highlights, I prefer red. Very dark hair looks best with red, light brown looks good with blonde. Just my opinion. Good luck.

I say try a beehive. You don't see many of those outside trailer parks nowadays. You also don't see the word "nowadays" much nowadays.
