Now I enjoy a game of cricket as much as the next man and there's no denying that the Indian Premier league has been a resounding success but I can't help that think the 20/20 game isn't what cricket is supposed to be about.
Next year when the likes of Freddie Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen join the league along with other big name English players I think I'll start to pay a bit more attention. The more explosive 20/20 format is much more suitable to these players
Even the purists must admit that Brendon McCullum's 158 runs from 73 balls and Sanath Jayasuriya's 114 runs from only 48 balls for the Mumbai Indians is pretty amazing. I'm hoping the Delhi Daredevils can pull one out and take the series.
